1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I took Sparky out again this morning.  He may have improved...a little...tiny..bit.  At any rate, our time was a little bit faster, so that's good.  First mile in 11:15, so that's a PR for Sparky.  After the next .7 Sparks fizzled out and wanted to just stop and rest.  I thought I was going to have to carry him home, but he perked up after walking a little while.   He runs twice as far as I do, with all the zig zagging.  I took him home and finished the last little bit alone.  So 2nd mile in 11:07 total.

I have heart-heavy work ahead of me today, so wish me luck!

In my lazyness today I was scared to even check the blog- but your blog is too funny to not comment on! I love it! I'm just picturing you & a wiener dog running partner- too funny! Make sure its Ok that he RUNS. I have a cocker spaniel and I started running with him, then I read somewhere its better for them to walk & not run alot because of their ears- don't want to rain on your parade- probably doesn't affect daschunds anyway- just food for thought...ANYWAY- you're doing awesome with the pace & miles this week- keep it up!

What is heart heavy work?

From laura on Wed, Sep 12, 2007 at 22:24:00

If your heart heavy work is Sam's 1st grade - good luck, Lib!!! I know you're making the right decision. Hopefully you'll find a school that works better with him. But if your "work" is something else - good luck with that too. Love you!

Maybe you should get Sparky a couple of greyhounds for training partners
