1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2 with Holly in the evening.   Tomorrow morning I'm gonna do my weekly tempo 2 miler in the AM.  I have high hopes that the cooler temps will yield good results.  This all depends on sleep actually happening tonight.  My 2 year-old has a tiny cold, but it kept him up almost ALL last night because he couldn't breathe and suck his thumb at the same time.  Grrrrr.  I must get more sleep tonight.   I was a GRUMP all day today.  I went to pick up my medal from the 5K this afternoon, and when the ditsy front office lady was completely unhelpful (I never did get the stupid thing) I had the strongest urge to shake her and demand it!  That's it.  I'm going to bed.

Thanks for your comment about me being a good friend- I was feeling guilty for whining about walking w/ Heather today. I wish you good sleep tonight and I want to hear all about the medal when you get it! Oh yeah, my goal for the 12K Sat. is 1:04, but that's probably optimistic since I haven't done any speedwork lately... no watches are allowed on the race so I'll just go as fast as I feel I can maintain for 7.44 mi. and we'll see what happens!?

Lybi, the medal represents your red badge of courage. When you gave your best, you deserve the darn medal. I have quite a few stories about medals and awards at races. Often times, non-runners are putting on the race. This explains much of the problem.

Thankyou for your encouragement, it was very kind. Hope you are having happy running trails. Keep up the good work.
