1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

1 really gentle mile with Holly in the evening.  I sucked up a bunch of dirt from the air, which was surprisingly mineral-rich.  Then Holly hog-tied me and forced me to watch the TV show "Psych" with her (not really).   Well, I LOOOOVED the show, which was cute and funny.   Best show ever.  Well, I guess I may be a little starved for visual entertainment as I almost never watch TV, so I might not be the best judge.  The last thing I saw was "High School Musical 2", which was so bad it just about scalded my eyeballs.  Anyway, fun little taper day for me.  I predict that the next time I write to you I will be ... exhausted.

By the way, those of you praying for it to rain on me in the 5K tomorrow are doing an amazing job!  The rain is supposed to start tomorrow afternoon ... now start praying that I will run fast and get a good time, ok?  A 50 mph tailwind wouldn't hurt either ... probably (I am thinking of debris--ok, 30 mph tailwind).

Ha, ha, ha. Thanks for the heads up on HS Musical 2. Did you hear that Lori broke her arm the other day? It's an epidemic! How's Adam's arm doing? If you get rain for your run, you'll do great!!!! Get James' MP3 player and have it play RESPECT over and over and you'll smoke 'em all!! Good luck!! I can't wait to hear how you do!!! Love ya.

Goodluck with your race Lybi, you will do great! I will Pray for a tailwind for you, but not more than 20 miles on hour, I don't want any injuries.

Thanks guys. Okay, I guess I didn't really give HSM2 a real chance. I always say it takes 3 times of watching the first one to really appreciate it. Some of the songs were pretty good.

Thanks Clay, your prayers worked. There was a stiff wind, but it blew sideways the whole race--never really head or tail. No injuries, though!
