1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2 Miles outside at night in the heat.  First mile in 9:39, 2nd in 9:56.  The heat bothered me more on this run than usual.  I felt a little sick to my tummy at the end.

I woke up this morning feeling a little sore.  I think I should have warmed up better yestereday when I ran.  I started off fast--like 8:00 pace and gradually slowed down the whole way.  Should have done the opposite.  Oh well.  The way I feel today, I think I better take it really easy tonight--not in mileage, but in pace.  I plan tp do 3 miles tonight--stopping every mile at my house to douse myself with water.  It really helps that everyone around here uses their sprinklers at night.  It is a cardinal rule of mine to always run through sprinklers if they are on.

That is sooooo exciting that you are running faster...it may ebb and flow but yay for faster!!!

Running in the heat is awful. But running through sprinklers is great. I love it. Anyway, Seth and your dad haven't been able to take apart the elliptical yet. We are both out of town now and they didn't have time before we all left.

Hey Lybi! Did you hear we ran in the brisk mountain air at 10,000 feet today? It was awesome. I think that Kristina is progressing faster now than she did before she had the baby.

Anyway, I read that you ran in the heat and my heart went out to you. Our run was so pleasant and beautiful. I wish we lived in a mountain.

I love your goals Lybi. Kristina also wants to be able to exercise through her next pregnancy.

I also liked the bit about running through other people's sprinklers. You're lucky they don't try to charge you for the service ;)

Keep it up Lybi. We are running just barely slower than you, but if you ever moved to NM, Kristina would be an excellent running partner and I would push myself hard until I could keep up with James and that would be fun for all of us. :)

I can keep up with James as long as I am on roller blades (as long as we aren't going uphill). He he he. He once ended up pushing a jogging stroller with 2 kids and pulling his wife (I held onto his shirt) because there was a steep hill. Everyone driving by was gawking.
