Prs:

1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

IT...IS...A...GIRL!

See, she is waving to her adoring fans...

Can you BELIEVE it?!?!  Miracles will never cease.

And I'm off to do my 30 min. yoga DVD.   It is hard, but short.  In general I've been trying to do at least an hour a day, but something's better than nothing.

We had three boys and then not one, but two girls in a row! After three boys I NEVER thought I'd have a daughter! They are all wonderful. Congratulations!

WOOOO HOOOOO I'm SOOO excited for you! James told me this morning (because I'm a slacker and hadn't been on line). I could really tell he was excited. I'm SO happy for you. Now I'm going to have to start stocking up on the cute girlie things :o)

Hey congrats! She looks like she's in a marathon running position. At least the last mile right!?

From josse on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 13:30:29

Thanks so much, guys! Happiness is all the sweeter for sharing with good friends.

But HC, you must realize that I am VERY attached to my boys, even though they DO tend to get stinky (or at least dirty) more often than is strictly necessary.

Walter, any marathon runner in this position is in serious jeopardy of not finishing, I'd say. Looks more like a break dancer to me. :)

From Walter on Sat, Feb 07, 2009 at 23:59:30

Ok maybe he's break dancing across the finish line! haha

From Lybi on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 00:05:45

SHEEEE's got style, no doubt about that!

Reminds me of the time Brent dared me to do a cartwheel across the finish line. I really meant to do that, but I could never remember it at the right time (too exhausted to think). OK Walter, I'm going to pass the challenge on to you...can you do a cartwheel?

From Walter on Sun, Feb 08, 2009 at 00:11:13

I can do sort of a hand drop and kick my legs around like a spastic non acrobatic person. Someone told me I always have a scowl on my face when I finish my races so Ive been training in the mirror to smile in painful situations and raise my hands up. haha

Ill take your challenge. It has to be a Marathon and I have to be in the top ten to do it. otherwise its in vain. haha

Whats James up to?

That's great news!

Looks like she wants to get out and run already!
