1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

3.5 miles with Christine. 9:58 ave. pace. I struggled a little this morning. My knee aches a bit from yesterday's...ahem...event, which does NOT bear repeating. I hope I didn't damage anything. This is what happens when you count your goose eggs before they hatch (into 5's and 6's).

I am skipping my run tonight because of my knee, which feels a little worse.

Great job getting back out. I have only fallen once but it took me a long time to get back out and I still do not like to run on that street.

From wheakory on Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 11:54:18

Nice run. I would ice the knee and take a pain reliever and see if that helps.

From James W on Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 12:34:33

LOL! I love the new picture. Just take it easy for the next couple days, I agree with the ice, and you should be fine. Keep up the good work.

Lybi, no worry, just run a longer run later in the week, 8 to 10 miler. It seems you are ready to give it a try. Sorry, no commando points for the fall, hope you recover quickly. Michael kind of has some fuzzy math on how fast to increase mileage.

From laura on Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 18:52:25

Well, apparently I felt sorry for your fall yesterday, because this morning I fell down the stairs!!! Ugh. I'm SURE I didn't earn any commando points either because I just sat there and assessed the damage before I even started moving. It hurt my left foot and my left upper back.

I'm sorry to hear your knee is hurting you today - it's so unfair! You're on such a roll, and I can't imagine you giving up your mileage goal on the last few days! Good luck, but take it easy.

From Mik'L on Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 19:08:07

Wow you fell so hard you got old! That's scary. ;) Good job gettin back out there.

From Lybi on Tue, Nov 27, 2007 at 19:18:53

Mik'L you always say my picture doesn't look like me. I just can't seem to please you! ;) So sorry you've been sick, get better!

Laura, that is taking sympathy TOO far! Sorry--first the fall and then your painful Dr. appt. You deserve a big treat. Go tell Mike I said so.

Brent, 10 miles? What the whoowie-hay you thinkin! No wait, maybe....eventually... Knee permitting.

Thanks James, Kory and Jody!

You have me doubled over with that picture!!! Too funny!

From Shauna on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 00:32:33

LOL! Love the picture!

Lybi,

Thanks for the invite for Moab. I am interested but my husbands schedule is a little iffy. He is a sports writer for the Deseret News and covers Utah State basketball. They usually have their conference tourney that week so I will have to see. It would be a lot of fun!

From KIm on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 17:30:32

The new picture finally shows up on my computer. I was wondering what everyone was talking about...."I've fallen and I can't get up!"

From Jody on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 17:45:59

I just finally saw the new picture - Thanks for the laugh and brightening my day!

From laura on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 19:03:17

Ahh! Finally I can see the new picture too. Hee,hee

From Michelle on Wed, Nov 28, 2007 at 20:29:27

Oh Lybi, only you!!! Your the best! Although that photo hits a little close to home, in my profession that is never a good sight!! (he,he!!!)
