Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

2.23 with the loaded double jogging stroller.  I am very proud of the .23  because this is the farthest I have ever pushed that stubborn-spoked monstrosity of a vehicle.  I am also very pleased with my effort/time.  Average pace was 11:17 and I did NOT stop to walk other than at stoplights.  Sasha said that the stroller adds about 2:00 to the pace, so this was a good run for me.  I consider my normal comfortable pace to be 10:15-10:30, so (ug) I did my best.

Thanks go out to my coach, James, for fixing the stroller's tire at 5 in the morning!

Wow! Your pace is improving beautifully. Its all about getting out the door day after day isn't it? Good job! Yeah, my poor friend Heather has a nasty sinus infection that has moved to her ears. The antibotics she was using just wouldn't do the job. Now she's trying a stronger med and laying low. She's a GO GO GO girl, 4 kids- still nursing the baby, hardworking church girl, etc etc.... You know the type- crazy like us!

Good job Lybi! I ran with a stroller once, pushing my best friend's newborn, and it was HARD! Isn't it great to see your times improve?

Good luck in the 5K this weekend!

Lybi-I admire people like you and Lulu so much as you train so hard and take care of little ones. Gosh, It seems at times that I can barely take care of myself. I don't know how you do it, but it is an inspiration. I agree wholeheartedly with Christi, that consistency in getting out the door every day, one day at a time is crucial, and you are doing it.

Isn't it fun to have Adrianne on the blog? She is so adorable in person...you should see her dimples and a very hardworking compassionate lady. I know you'll love her. I have to also say that I'm impressed with your stroller times. Are you changing the time of day you run?

Thanks for the encouragement Christi, Shauna, Jeff, and Sarah. You guys are part of the reason I just keeping trying.
