I hitched my carcus to the Susanna and Rachael wagon.  I let them  haul me around and listen to my crap for 15 miles.  I kept up with the sub 10's for about 10 miles, but I called an end to that around mile 10 as I slowly dragged the whole group into the low 11's.  I could see the shock and sadness in their eyes as at what I have become since we last ran.  Even the multitude of new calves stading meekly next to their mothers in the fields and lovely green hue of the swollen Jordan river didn't do it for me. Could it be iron they asked?  sleep? exhaustion? No my sweet ladies.  I'm just slovenly, unmotivated and have trained and eaten badly since January.  I thought I could pull it out of the bag for a running party, but sadly I do believe I might be back to the low iron.  It was great to have company, but now I feel guilty because I couldn't keep up and they felt obligated to run back a few times to make sure the mountain lions and carion hadn't taken me out.  It was wonderful to partake of their energy and company.  It lifted my spirits to be reminded of their beautiful faces and graceful strength.

Well done. 15 is solid mileage and nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember DC is a fun Saturday long run--nothing else--just a little longer than usual. You are going to be great--no worries.

I am sooo sorry the morning started out w/ a *bad luck* stop by the dang LPD! That just spoiled it for you right off the bat! STINK!!!:(

However, I do want you to know that I so very much enjoyed your company! You don't give yourself enough credit for the wonderful person you are, the strength you possess, the goodness of your heart and the love and friendship you share!!! YOU lifted my spirit!

As for the pace, your watch must've been broken because no where on mine said that we ran anything in the 11's. The slowest mile was 10:45. The fastest mile was 9:06 and you were running ahead of me on that mile!!!

It was so so so so so GOOD to see you! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for coming all the way to Lehi to run with me! I hope we get to do more runs together this summer. The journey and friendship is what make running fun and enjoyable!

Oh, I concur w/ Cath on the D.C. Marathon. Just go and have a ton of fun! Take your camera. No worries! No stress! Enjoy! Love ya! :)

Thanks running friends. I hope for lots of running therapy come spring and summer. Smooth, I hope your knee gets better, I'm worried it's going to try and show you who is boss. Be good to it so it will cooperate for Boston. I am so sad to miss getting signed up... especially now with the new BQ times. I guess I'll always get to look back and remember how I once ran the Boston Marathon. I am so very grateful you were part of that experience for me. Thanks for the encouragmenet my friends. I needed it. I'm going to try and be more postive and perhaps with the coming of spring I can make a fresh start.

I had such an AMAZING time with you Luz, some of the 'crap' we talked about on this run just really helped me a ton! I swear running is the BEST form of therapy. I'm sorry you didn't have your medal with you on the way there - always keep a spare in the glove box! :)

I too agree that the miles were MUCH faster than you think! If you look at my splits I only had one mile in the 10's and the first 4 we were running together were low 9's. You are an incredibly strong woman and I just loved this run SO much. Pace, schmace - I'm just happy to run with you!
