I am so thrilled at the prospect of NOT training for a marathon that running seems fun again. I don't really want to think about St. George. Maybe I just have to accept that my body can't do what it used to do (speed nor distance).  Maybe my wrecked hamstrings and sad variety of exhausting ailments have sucked the joy out of trying hard.  I don't know. But I do know that running--at any pace-- for no better reason than to be near the sound and sight of the rushing river, and to be one of the few witnesses of the cool morning daybreak is enough for me. I tried something new today that felt kind of good--I walked backwards up the big hills instead of running them.

Oh to feel that...

I'm doing better just going by feel and not worrying about pace, but definitely not as liberating as where you are at right now! Shall we count on seeing you Saturday?

Rad, yes. I don't know how far I'll run but I will be there and I've recruited my daughter to help mark the course again. I'm not sure about Cath. I should check....she's still go on her boot.

Smoothie! Hi! Sorry I didn't make Saturday morning. I slept something like 10 hours after all my doctors appts and shots and blood tests. I hate going to the doctor's so much, the stress of it exhausts me :( I'll miss you at RHPC.

I miss you! I HATE going to the doc. and dentist too!

So, are the blood tests good? Karen wants to know the liquid iron you take. I know you posted it before but I can't remember!

I will miss you at RHPC too! So bummed!

The iron I've been taking was Liquid Floradix with herbs from the health food store and I've combined it with mint Cholorophyl (which they say helps the iron more fully absorb). Also, I bought a bottle of liquid iron at the phramacy which I combine with Emergen-C (vitamin C drink, C helps iron absorb too). It's much cheaper from the pharmacy than the Floradix from the healthfood store. It's called Hi-Tech Ferrous Sulfate Elixer so it's just sugary sweet metal tasting iron. The test results for all the tests won't be back for a few more days. So I'll let you know if they give me more specific information on the iron. However, the doctor was also testing me for D deficiencies which I thought was weird. But we'll see. They are also taking red and white cell counts, and checking my thyroid. I don't even know what else.

Thanks for the info. I forwarded it to Karen. She was really anemic last Fall and is experiencing the same fatigue symptom now.

Vitamin D seems to be the latest miracle drug. My D was low last Oct for my annual check up and the thyroid and cholesterol were creeping up. He had me take 2,000 IU of D-3 vitamin (I was taking 1,000 IU). The follow up blood test in April showed everything normal, phew!

I hope your blood test results are good.
