I had to get going at 6 am because of my daughter's soccer game in Salt Lake at 10.  Today was the morning of maddening eyeball snow.  I am grateful it wasn't sticking to the ground, but now my neck is sore from hunching over to to protect my face.  I should have worn my trusty running hat to protect my eyes.  What I did see of the day made me pleased...The snow and the river were fat with spring.  There were more baby cows this time than last. I have no idea what the AP was 9 or 10ish? My Garmin--which has given me trouble since I bought it (shorting, turning off, not reading the same as other Garmin's, beeping maniacally and wihtout cause while charging) finally bit the dust.  I think it was the wet snow that did it in.  The strap deteriorated the the National Marathon, but this time I think it's a gonner. I need to go see Steve Orrick.  My left hamstring--the one that gave me such trouble in '08 is acting up again.  Smooth suggested myabe I needed to do hipflexor exercizes.  I'll find out, because I'm not going to last the season with this thing pulling like it is on both ends of the attachments.

Injections have done wonders for me;)

I'm game to try it, but I also wonder if I need to do some more strenghtening excersizes. I do a good core and upper body work out every day after I run, but I think I need strenth in my butt and the back of my legs and hipflexors. I've been stretching like 5 times a day, and still my longer runs make that bugger ache. How was my side of the trail this a.m.? Let's plan to run there again before too long. It's so pretty there the end of April and beginning of May. Actually, all year, I like it all year long.

Strengthening exercises have done wonders for her too.

Dr. Brady is really good at giving you strengthening exercises that you need for your weaknesses. I thought about you during the run and how much you would have loved to be running down there.

Smooth said your garmin had turned off, I didn't know it was DEAD DEAD! I'm sorry! However, I think your pace was much closer to a 9 than a 10. Darn snow, I'm really over this stupid cold winter.

Good luck with the hamstring stuff - I'm a roller fan. All day and all night, roll away :)

It was a good run--I'm glad I was able to tag along.

I hope you find success with the hip flexor issue. A Google search on hip flexor specific exercises should provide a plethora or results.

(Your pace was in the neighborhood of 9:20--and that maddening eyeball snow was way cool! ;) )

Luz ~ THANK YOU so much for coming to run with me!!! Our average pace was 9:07.

I know you are doing everything you can to take care of that hamstring!

Just curious, in 2008 when the top of your hamstring started to bug, were you running a lot of uphills? I just wonder if your daily runs around Edgemont have lots of hills!
