"Just start out fast, keep running fast, and finish fast....that's all."  This is recent advice given to me regarding a potential racing strategy.  OK, sure, run really, really fast! Simple.  So I went all out from the beginning just to see what would happen.  I'm a slow starter and like to believe that I'm saving my energy for the finish (which typically feels good to me).  But ok, I'm trying new things recently.  So, I started fast and tried to keep it fast for a while.  I'm happy to report....that IT ALMOST KILLED ME. I have not found the profound silence of  the 'third eye' since Yoga/meditation was a bigger part of my life.  I had to go there alot to get these splits.  In fact, I didn't know I could find it running. Surprize!

You're doing great! By the way, are you on the left or the right in the picture?

I'm on the right. That's my sister Sunny on the left. She comes from DC every year to run the Moab Half Marathon in March. So the picture reminds me of what running really means to me.

Very cool! Sisters are the best! My sister runs too, but we rarely run together. Maybe this weekend...

Thanks for the kind words on my blog! After reading your running history, I am blown away, you are a REAL runner! I have to agree with you, Ogden in the spring and ST. George in the fall are absolute MUSTS!!! The only time I ran an 8 minute mile was on the Antelope Island 50K and I seriously thought a buffalo that was chasing another runner, who got up on a boulder to save his life, would start chasing me and my partner who were the only other runners in sight. I ran down the trail at an 8 minute mile pace, which I have never done before or since. I have decided if I am ever going to run an 8 minute mile again, there needs to be something big and threatening behind me. So.... for you just to run at the pace for the sake of running is AMAZING!!!! You go girl!! It is nice to meet you!!!
