I did 3 days of physical therapy last week. Physical therapy is kind of like volunteering to play the part of an infidel to be tortured by the Spanish inquisition.  The electrodes, the painful stretching and uncomfortable 'massaging' (also known as: let me stab you with 14 knives in this leg).  Then there are the days of waiting, i.e.: healing.  I would like to try aqua running but that horrible pool water makes me crazy itchy and I'm still rebuilding resistance to get back to either biking or  walk/jogging-- which I can only do in 5 and 10 minute increments at a time.  Then, after all that progress last week, I did a terrible thing by having to drive to San Diego on Thursday.  Which meant I also had to drive back.  Oddly enough driving and sleeping is my most painful activity.  Then the lack of stretching and movement during that drive time, made me feel like physical therapy went backwards.  I did all that painful stretching all the days I was gone, but the driving was hard.  The good news is, the big pain has subsided and only related to certain movements or long periods of sitting.   I've been walking a few miles every day to stay mobile, and to be outside so I won't go freaking insane.  Oh wait. Too late.

I know your report is bitter sweet- but I was so glad to see your name in the "most recent entries" box :D Driving is really terrible with bad legs and hips. I have found since I ahve begun running, I really hate sitting for very long.

I am so glad the main pain has subsided, for the most part :) Take care and try to enjoy your torture sessions with Steve! (was that his name?)

Luz..I've missed you. Come walk with me..it would be good for you to hear my own insane babblings. Were you in San Diego for business? I hate traveling now (with kids..you know it stinks) but I always try to find something that I enjoy on the trip amidst the horrible work load. When I went to Arizona one time for the Del Sol relay and stayed with Lybi(that was of course fun) I really enjoyed seeing the citrus trees everywhere and the rosemary plants. They are all over her beautiful neighborhood. I even made some soup for everyone with some rosemary I picked from around the corner. That was fun.

Sorry that the driving caused a setback. However, it sounds like you are doing your best to not get any more insane than you already are.

I hear you on the driving, we just got back form San Diego as well. The driving killed my back. I hope the healing goes fast, hang in there kiddo.

Sorry guys. I've been blogging out of a sense of duty, and then running away from the blog so I don't get more depressed reading everyone else's running adventures. The drive was to go see family in San Diego. The whole time I was there, all I could think about was the perfect weather (am I right Josse?)and how I couldn't run all my favorite dirt roads ...ah well. I'm sore from the treadmill trials, but not in pain. I'm so excited to be moving without pain! (It's kind of like speed walking). Thanks for sticking with me and saying nice things. I'll keep at it. If Sarah doesn't have the baby tommorrow, we're walking on Saturday. So I have something to look forward to besides more hip/pelvis/hamstring/lower back stretching!
