Running Accomplishments:

I ran my first marathon as a teenager in 1981 with my Dad (The Coronado Marathon). Since then I've run St, George (3x) Utah Valley (3x) Ogden (1 full, 2 halves) Park City (1 x) Boston Marathon (1x) Washington DC (1x) Moab Half Marathon (6x) ,Ye Old Freedom Festival 5 & 10K (a million x) and many others.

But I'm all done with that now.  I'm officially a jogger.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My running goal is to keep on keepin' on.

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Jog into the sunset.

Stretched and ran 2 on the treadmill 12m/m.  PT this morning, and then I'll do 2 more tonight.  Yay!  I'm moving.

Hey, good job. I don't think right now I could run that far, that fast without pain. Looks like your recovery is coming along, hopefully mine won't be too far behind.

I would really suggest seeing a doctor/physical therapist. I started out with the chiopracter and then the massage therapist, and finally broke down and went to the doctor when I thought that I'd broken my pelvis. Sitting and laying down was especially painful. I've done 2.5 hours of physical therapy every other day for three weeks. Electrodes, ultra sound, deep tissue stretching, release technique massage, heat, cold--and the excersizes. I've learned a ton and I guarantee I wouldn't be running even 2 miles at a time without having done this first either. From the pain standpoint-- you've got to do more than just rest. I no longer hurt when I'm sitting down. That is a miracle that was very readily fixed with a targeted hamstring stretch. Josse/MichelleL/Bonnie here on the blog recommend Dr. Brady in Utah County who practices ART (active release therapy). It's worth a try just so you can sit again (forget the running). I am sorry to hear about the pain. It totally drains your energy to be in constant pain.
