Maybe it's just me, but 45 degrees and no wind is PERFECT running weather.  I could run like this forever.  I wish I had four extra hours and a marathon to run today.   The air is cool enough, but allows your lungs to use the oxygen it delivers.  I love the solitude of winter running, but man it's hard to get a good breath in sub 25 weather. So, now I'm starting to look for other women who run the trail at the same time I do. I find my self calculating their speed and overall sturdiness.  I start wondering if they are a 2-3 miler "I'm trying to keep my weight down even when I don't eat actual food" or a consistent (even in the dead of winter) 4-6 daily and 12-23 on Saturday’s "give me a freaking steak" kind of girl.  Maybe I should wear a "Runner for Rent" sign advertising "easy 9 minute miles and able to go the distance."  Pretty soon Catherine will come out of post-baby fog ready to rock-n-roll.  But for the next few weeks, I may be blogging a lot about how I can't figure out how to use the Garmin.  (Note for Sarah: At least that nagging little beep will keep me company!).

Hey! Thanks for the info on Charlie Horses. They are NO fun! I'm going to take your advice and start putting more of the healthy foods you mentioned into my diet. Starting of course with bananas cause that's easy and they're on my countertop! So are you fairly new on "the blog"? Good to meet you!

So I guess I’m an activist at heart. I noticed we’ve only had 13 votes but 144 views and there are more of you out there. I know some people don’t use the discussion board of the blog so I’m posting this comment on everyone’s blog that has updated in the last few days or so to bring your attention to both the discussion section and the mileage board. Please read the discussion here (http://fastrunningblog.com/forum/index.php/topic,324.0.html) and then vote here (http://fastrunningblog.com/forum/index.php/topic,348.0.html) if you have an opinion. If you already voted, I am sorry about the “spam.” Thank you!

Welcome to the blog! So did you run Ogden this year?

From LuzyLew on Thu, May 22, 2008 at 17:24:09

I ran the half, but man it was so gorgeous and the course was fantastic. I wanted more! So I'll plan it for next year.

It is a very scenic course. Very hot though! Didnt you think so? Most everyone Ive talked with suffered a little more than usual. But Ill continue to run that every year.

I actually like the beep I just have my off days. I usually am very entertained by how fast I've run each quarter. Although now that would be how slow. How fast does Catherine recover after babies? It takes me a few months to feel anywhere near back to normal. So if this baby is due in October. I could maybe run with somebody else faster than 11 minute mile pace in say Feb. I race about the same pace as Amanda has been racing but when we trained together we avg 9:00-10:00 with 9 being on the faster side.
