6.10 miles in the morning.

10.20 miles in the evening.

I had to cut my run short this morning because Katey and I were going to hike the Subway in Zion National Park today with some friends.  I kept it easy and ran out towards Ivins and then back.

The hike was really fun today.  It was nice and long.  It took us about 9 hours to do.  A long time hiking but it was very enjoyable for all who was there.  There were places to jump off into water and also places to repel down.  I wasn't that tired so I hurried home and met up at the store for the club run.  Kamm, Steve, Dave, and I did the usual 10 mile loop.  It got a little chilly on the run tonight (I think it dropped below 95!)

Yeah, I was glad I got my warm-up in before we started. That walk from the parking lot to the store made all the difference. I was a little worried the temperatures might drop, and sure enough once the sun went down, it got down right chilly, like you said at least down to 95, maybe even a bitter lower. I know it was 91 when I did my two miles with Sunny at 10:00 pm, I about had to put on my shirt.

I hiked the subway in August of last year and I got caught in a flash flood. It is a really pretty hike and not too hard, but it is kind of scary when you are in the middle of a canyon and you can see a waterfall (that isn't supposed to be there) pouring down off of a giant cliff and the water is heading right for you. The flood ended up destroying some homes farther down the river but we were fine because we moved to higher ground as we were already out of the slot canyons.
