My friend, Annee, just moved to Korea with her husband in the Air Force. She wanted to race a half marathon with her sister in California, but obviously there were constraints; so she decided to run in Korea and invite anyone else to race on the same day as an unofficial World Race Day. So, I joined in. My training has been absolutely pathetic, so I could only pull out a 5K, but it's a PR - simply because I haven't done a 5K by myself and racing hard since I first started running over a year ago. My first mile was also a PR, though I announce that a little sheepishly since it was quite a downhill for the first half mile. So, here are my splits: 1 - 8:16 2 - 9:26 3 - 9:53 .1 - :44 It wasn't quite like a true race with the magic that comes with races; but it was fun and I really tried to give it my all.
