My friend, Annee, just moved to Korea with her husband in the Air Force.  She wanted to race a half marathon with her sister in California, but obviously there were constraints; so she decided to run in Korea and invite anyone else to race on the same day as an unofficial World Race Day.  So, I joined in.  My training has been absolutely pathetic, so I could only pull out a 5K, but it's a PR - simply because I haven't done a 5K by myself and racing hard since I first started running over a year ago.  My first mile was also a PR, though I announce that a little sheepishly since it was quite a downhill for the first half mile.  So, here are my splits:

1 - 8:16

2 - 9:26

3 - 9:53

.1 - :44

It wasn't quite like a true race with the magic that comes with races; but it was fun and I really tried to give it my all.

Having done my share of solo tempo runs I can appreciate how tough it can be to push yourself when no one is looking. Congrats on the P.R.'s. Don't make light of them as it shows just how far you've managed to come in the past year. Now you can go and update the P.R. section of you're profile.

Great job! That's a great time. And a really nice thing for you to do for a friend. You are a nice person.

Good job on your "race". PR's are PR's.

Thanks, Plumcrazy (cute name), Carolyn, and Burt!!! It was a tough run and made for a tiring ward Christmas party that night. But hey! What are the holidays for, if not to "run" ourselves into the ground!?! (hee, hee)

Happy Holidays!
