Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Recovering from injury isn't much fun!  I guess each of us have to take our turn though.  Yesterday I was driving along one of my favorite places to run and really felt a sting of pain for not being able to get out on the road and run.

Wednesday I did 2 miles on the TM, 20 minutes on the elipltical  and 10 minutes on the bike.  The IT band hurt with the running.  And today I tried to do a bit of running and it was hurting my foot more than it has.  So......no running for a while.  I hate to hinder the healing by trying to run, so I shall not even try for a while again.  Today I did 30 minutes eliptical, 20 bike and some arm workouts.  Haven't worked on the arms in quite some time.

And now a WARNING to all injured runners....

Last night I had a dream that when I went to the bathroom I peed fish.  Real, live fish.  There were about 5 or 6 or them.  One was a trout like fish about 6 inches long.  One was a beautiful angel fish.  I don't remember what the others were.  Anyway, I called Tom in because I was worried and he said, "Don't worry, that is something that all injured runners do." And then I was fine with it.  I was just wishing someone would have told me that is what happen to all injured runners.

So just in case you are injured and have this experience, don't worry....it happens to all injured runners!

(If there is anyone out there who interprets dreams, please don't interpret this for me, I'd hate to know how "off the rocker" I really am!  :o)

I think the moral of the story is Don't beleive everything Tom tells you.

From Clay on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 14:12:45

That is one wierd dream Kim, and I don't even want to try and interpret that baby;-D With that said, happy healing...

From Tom on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 15:06:11

I say let's go fishing!! It's been a long time hasn't it Terry? Sometimes I sure wish we still had the Fish Lake cabin. We need to plan a Payson Lakes outing sometime. Clay you need to come too. If we don't catch anything at least we can pee fish if any of us happen to be injured.

From RivertonPaul on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 15:12:13

According to Tom's criteria, looks like I've never had a running injury.

From Brent on Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 20:25:35

Kim, Tom is going fishing in the toilet? Funny thing, we all have crazy dreams, we just don't remember them. Are you sure they were not blow fish, without Hooty?

By the way, cross training is only bearable with others or an IPOD.

Stay Kool, you'll be back on the road again, without or without Willie, B of BS Rools out

I will bring the power bait!! I think that rainbow would do the trick!!! Be patient Kim and before to long you will be back pounding the pavement!

TOO funny!

From Kim on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 12:21:15

I'm feeling quite silly for sharing this dream with the world. Not sure what I was thinking. I'm especially embarrassed that it is all guys who have commented until Marion! It's probably best if I keep my crazy dreams to myself. :o)

Update:

I'm afraid Wednesday's 2 miles on the TM will be my last running miles for a while. I'm kind of nervous about my feet. And the IT band needs rest too. I thought I could try little bits at a time, but I'm still afraid I might have a stress fracture. I hope I can embrace the eliptical machine and the bike, because I need to do something to keep me from gaining weight and from being a sad, and ornery type of person.

Okay ... you said not to interpret your dream, so I won't. But, hypothetically speaking, if I were to interpret your dream I would definitely say it was a good one. Hypothetically, I would say that it means that your body is "flushing" everything "fishy" out of its system.

Sure do love you!!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Here are the different meanings for fish in dreams:

* To dream that you see fish in clear-water streams, denotes that you will be favored by the rich and powerful.

* Dead fish, signifies the loss of wealth and power through some dire calamity.

* For a young woman to dream of seeing fish, portends that she will have a handsome and talented lover.

* To dream of catching a catfish, denotes that you will be embarrassed by evil designs of enemies, but your luck and presence of mind will tide you safely over the trouble.

* To wade in water, catching fish, denotes that you will possess wealth acquired by your own ability and enterprise.

* To dream of fishing, denotes energy and economy; but if you do not succeed in catching any, your efforts to obtain honors and wealth will be futile.

* Eating fish, denotes warm and lasting attachments.

From Kim on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 12:49:19

I like that interpretation Teena! The only problem is I think I'm going to have to flush it several times to get all the fisheyness down the drain. I hope I can be patient enough for it. Until then I will live vicariously through you and the other bloggers who are doing well right now. Thanks and maybe you will be able to work for the king if you can interpret dreams like that! :o)

From Kim on Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 12:54:45

Andy, Thank you for your study and research in my behalf! But where do I fall in there? It WAS a clear stream and I AM a young woman! :o) (rich and powerful, handsome and talented!)

Where in the heck did you come up with that stuff? Are you a wild and crazy dreamer too?

From laura on Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 22:49:28

Oh, weird dream! I HATE dreams. When I wake up from a dream, I somehow feel compelled to tell my poor, patient husband. He smiles at nods at the appropriate times, but I'm sure he's tired of my bizarre dreams too. That's interesting about your fish, though. ;o)

Sorry about your injuries, Kim. But I am so happy that you were able to accomplish your goal and run the STG marathon. You'll always have that - even if recovery takes longer than you hope.

From christi on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 22:26:31

That's hilarious! Here's my stab at it... fish are wiggly and hard to hold onto. I think its your body symbolizing its yearning to run which is sketchy & out of touch (just for the moment...)I used to be better at this dream stuff when in school for psych, but I thought I'd take a rusty stab at it for funsies...Kim- sounds like you are doing just what you should, getting in some good cross-training. Keep it up!
