I started running in the fall of 2007. I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.
Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014. My favorite PRs: 2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22. 2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15
Short-Term Running Goals:
Long-Term Running Goals:
Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.
Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!
On running and on life.....
On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Personal:
Going to St. George? Bag the hotel and stay in one of our condos instead!
Three miles with Beth and then I picked up Rui for one more. I was only planning on 3 but when I walked into the house Rui was going crazy that I hadn't taken him along. So we went out for one. I think Rui is getting the benefits just like Lybi's son. Running and being out in the fresh autumn air is good for all of us! I always thought that since Rui is a small dog that he was getting enough by just running around the back yard. Maybe if I keep this up with him he will turn into a nice, mellow dog. It is definitely worth a try! I never thought I could enjoy running more than 3 days a week, but I am doing it and loving it! My goal is 4-6 days a week. It looks like 5 will usually be the ticket for me.
It looks like our training is simliar. I try for 4-6 days and usually end up with 5 as well. How small is your dog? We've got two little ones and I'm not sure how far they could go. I also noticed your post yesterday about having a Japanese student come to stay with you. Clyde and I recently had a 21 year old from Tokyo stay with us for 3 weeks. We had a lot of fun with him (although we were exhausted by the time he left becuase we took him all over the place!). My family has a lot of ties to Japan. I have been there 3 times and we had a Japanese student live with us during high school. He and I are the same age and I consider him my brother. Where in Japan is your son serving? Well enough rambling! Good job getting the miles in!
My dog is a Silky Terrier, (most people think he's a Yorkie). He is about 12 lbs. He is a very hyper little guy and quite yqppy, but we all seem to like him!
I love all your Japanese ties! My husband, Tom, served in Kobe and my son is currently in the Tokyo mission. We hope to go to Tokyo in Feb. 2009 to pick him up. We hope Kazuki will start to feel more comfortable soon. We only have a week with him.
That's pretty cool Rui now is taking on a coaching role, encouraging you to get more miles. Perhaps he's possessed by the spirit of Sasha at times! After my last 5K running with Sasha I can see a few similarities in personality.
Great job getting the extra mile in! You're closing in on that 20 mile goal for the week.
