| Took it easy this morning as we got to bed late last night. I also wanted to make sure I was fully recovered from Saturday's run. Didn't notice any soreness to speak of. My resting heart rate on Sunday morning was 40. | Comments(1) |

| Felt good this morning. My legs were well rested and there seemed to be a little extra spring in my step. Warmed up for a mile and then threw in some fartlek stretches on my way to the park. Felt a little soreness in my knees heading up the road behind the high school, but it went away after a few minutes. Pushed it the last mile and a quarter back along the creek trail. | Add Comment |

| Kind of an easy run starting out. I've been running a bit short on sleep, so I was pretty much on autopilot for the first couple of miles. Starting pushing it a bit starting up the hill out of the Adventure Park and a little harder once I got to the path around the orchard. Pushed it to 5K race pace the last quarter mile. No aches or pains to speak of. I just need to get more sleep. | Add Comment |

| Walked with Laureen for an hour and then ran to loosen up for tomorrow's race. Noticed my left outside ankle was a little sore while I was running the faster stretch, but it went away when I stopped. Hopefully, it'll be all right for tomorrow. | Add Comment |

| Finished in 1:33.45 and 9th in the 50-54 age group. It was great to see so many friends at the race. Rode up on the bus with Paul, Tom and Wayne. Cory and Nathan were sitting up closer to the front of the bus. I was a little concerned with the late start, especially when we hit sunlight at about the first mile marker, but it never really got too hot. Took an eGel before the race and one at mile 8. The second one seemed to kick in around mile 11 as I finished pretty strong and know I could have pushed it harder. Average heart rate was 165. My weight post race was 152.6 (15.9% body fat). I need to finish at least a minute faster next year to place in the top three for my new age group. | Comments(1) |
