Headed out around 5:30 expecting some rain, but it was relatively warm and dry. Slight breeze from the north with overcast skies. After a mile warm-up, ran a steady pace through Highland Glen park. Coming down from the pond I ran into a couple of women out running with their dogs which were confused and a bit aroused by my headlight. I wasn't sure that they were on leashes, but they didn't bark or attack. I put some distance on them, but could still hear them a mile further on. With the increasing light in the mornings, I'm starting to see more runners out. Saw a couple of other women out jogging as I approached the trail. Pushed the last half mile at 5K race pace. |
