Nice Saturday morning run with Laureen. Starting off we watched the runners participating in the Tour de Run thundering down the path behind our house. We saw them again about a half hour later along the path behind the high school as they were finishing. We cheered for Josie who was in second place for the women. It was a fun way to start our long run.

Easy recovery run following the usual Highland Glen loop. Achilles was a little sore starting out, but it didn't bother me after the first half mile. It's nice and dark again starting out, but really warm. Only saw about four people out walking or jogging. Felt pretty good after the first mile or so and started picking up the pace.

Routine Highland Glen morning run. Dark, mostly cloudy and warm. Passed a group of four young, fit men heading west towards the park. At first I thought they must be part of a high school cross country team, but as I got closer I could see that they were older. Very unusual. About the same time I noticed the purple clouds in the east above American Fork canyon and started picking up the pace.

I was going to go longer and harder today, but decided to back off because of lingering knee and ankle soreness.

Knee soreness still lingering a bit, but felt pretty good over all. Watched the ISS pass over just before starting out (around 5:30). I was surprised to see it going from southwest to northeast.

Pretty morning for a run. Full moon low in the southwest. Even felt a little cool starting out. My knee was a little sore for the first mile or so, but I didn't notice it much after that, maybe because I tripped on some uneven pavement and scaped my palms a bit. As usual, gradually picked up the pace during the last half.

Clocked the Highland Glen loop and realized that I needed to add on a little to get to five miles

Heavy overcast this morning, threatening rain but only felt a few little drops. Felt pretty good over all. There was a very pretty sunrise over American Fork canyon when I finished and looking back towards the west there was a rainbow over our house. I took Drake for a short walk and then grabbed my camera to take a picture.

Ran on the canal trail this morning. It was pretty dark starting out, even though there was a quarter moon over head. A couple of bikers almost ran into me (neither of us had headlights on). After two mile warm-up, ran  8:23, 8:06 and 7:57. Cooled down the last half mile. No real lingering aches or pains.
