I went to Park City for a training meeting Mon. and Tues. I only got one run in. I ran up to Deer Valley Ski Resort. It took awhile to get used to the altitude, but once I did the run was good.

Ran and timed the fast downhill course of the Utah Summer Games. I ran with Ryan Neuman most of the way taking turns leading each other. The pace felt good until the last half mile. My legs were burning and I was looking for the finish. Here are the splits:

Mile 1: 5:05  MIle 2: 5:19 Mile 3: 5:28  Mile 4: 5:30 Mile 5: 5:32 Mile 6: 5:31

Last 2 tenths: :58

My goals was to get the age division record which was 34:47. I ended up with 33:26. So it was a good day for me.

We timed this race also. I wsn't sure how my legs would respond after yesterdays 10K. I was again looking for an age group record. The old record was 16:41. The new record is 16:02.3. Here are the splits:

1-5:03

2-5:16

3-5:16

one tenth-0:25

I just tried to stay focused on form and a quick turn over. I was waiting to have Ryan come by me again, but I guess I got out far enough that I finally beat him for once. He and I are very close in our ability which makes racing together really good for both of us.

Went for an easy celebration run this evening. 4.82 mi. 6:55 pace
