my friend jill and i planned on meeting at the gym to take a 7am "body tone" class. so we got there around 6:45 and went in and realized they are so crowded that you have to sign up for a spot 30 minutes before it starts. that was disappointing! so i left and then ran about 6 pretty easy miles.

(San Luis to Ocala/High loop, two laps around San Luis)

magenta shoes- 137.1, blue shoes- 9 miles, orange shoes- 2 miles

Sorry about the class :( But you got in a GREAT run! Good girl! :D Have a fun weekend!

I hate those super crowded gyms!! Bummer, but you got in a great workout!

What is your track club?

From Kelsey on Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 18:00:21

I know! Sadly it was the first time I have gone to the gym at Florida State and I've been here almost a year and a half! But all I need is a road or trail, and I use my free weights at home, so I never really had use for it!

My track club is Gulf Winds Track Club in Tallahassee. They are so great, two men "coach" an interval workout every tuesday night: Christmas, hurricanes, 100 degree weather, they never miss a day, and do it all for their love of running. If I qualify for Boston I think I am going to buy them a present :)

Oh, you will qualify alright!! Now worries there!

So, is it just a group of people that like to run and get together to do it for FUN?

From Kelsey on Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 10:16:02

Haha, it is. Every week there are 15-30 people there, depending on the weather and stuff. I always look around and wonder why so many of us volunteer to run intervals. Runners are so crazy!

A lot of the people involved also created long run groups on the weekends and tempo groups on thursday, but I haven't tried doing that yet. Part of me enjoys doing them on my own.
