I've thought about doing MS Blues again (I'm torn between it and a somewhat low-key 50k on New Year's Eve - I guess I could do both...).

Have you run it before?

I did the inaugural half. It was also my first half so I struggled to run like 1:55. What did you think of the hills in the full course? Were they rolling, as in you can carry a momentum, or were they really monotonous?

As far as a road course is concerned, it was definitely not an easy course. There is something like a 4-mile stretch down Lakeland Dr. that is pancake flat, and you can make up some time there, but it can also get somewhat boring in the middle, and right after you get off of Lakeland onto Ridgewood Rd, the hills come back with a vengeance. All in all, though, I thought it was an incredibly well-organized race. It has enough challenging aspects to keep it interesting, while at the same time not being so difficult that you can't run fast (I think the winner last year was something like 2:14, so fast times are possible...)

In any case, let me know if you do it; it is always good to meet people from the blog (although I probably ought to get my rear end back in shape if I'm going to enter a marathon...)
