I stayed with some people tonight that I have never been able to stay with before, but they are not in top shape. I am not yet either though, so I am hoping I improve with them and can stay up there.
Good workout. A good 400m workout can be one of the most universally beneficial workouts; they can help everyone from 100m runners to ultra runners. Given the 5k time you just posted, I suspect you'll be doing a lot of running with people you've never kept up with before, and if you keep doing workouts like this, you'll be in awesome shape in a few months!
Kelli- Thanks... I have no idea what to expect when I get into shape this time but I sure hope you are right :) I did week 2 day 1 today... I am really hoping I don't have to switch to girl push ups to keep up!
Nevels- Thanks for the kind words. I just realized that I wrote 12x400 but we actually did 4x1200 today. I'll have to fix that. We alternate workouts every week though and I agree, I think the 400 intervals and mile intervals are probably the most beneficial. They definitely make you tougher and push you past your comfort zone. I hope you are right about the next few months, I am really hoping for a good year. Thanks for your inspiration- in both your words and your running!
