I am not sure if there are many more things as beautiful as the Riverbottoms on a foggy winter morning.  I know that sounds like a Hallmark card, but seriously!!  It is breathtaking.  I love how the branches on trees ice up and how the clouds just lay low and hover around all of the trees.  There is sort of a magic to it.  It was just what I needed after a pretty rough week.  And, Today was my first day "running" all week.  Tyler took the earlier shift so I met up with JaNae at 8:30 which was so fun, being I haven't ran with her for weeks.  We had planned on going 10 miles but at about mile 3 JaNae started getting some stomach pains that she tried fighting through until about mile 7.5.  At that point, we were going to turn down a side street to add on some mileage but she was ready to go back to her car (which I think she needed to, I do not run well when I don't feel well), so we parted ways and I turned down the road intent on getting the full 10 miles. As I started adding up the mileage that would take me back to the car, I realized that this wouldn't get me to 10 miles either, so I pretty much improvised and just kept going around until I knew I would hit 10 miles.  However, I was feeling really good so I decided to take another side street that took me around, adding on an additional mile.  So, all in all, it was 11.5 miles.  It felt really really good to get out and run and again, enjoy the views that come this time of year.  Now I am off to plan my Young Women Lesson.  Happy Saturday!!

Nice run Kellie- I know what you mean. It is SO beautiful that it is hard to imagine that we live here... then the cold hits us and HOLY CRAP! Is all this beauty worth the frost bite? I think south Florida is beautiful :D

Great run!!! Are you running Painters?

From kellies on Sat, Jan 10, 2009 at 16:30:25

My brother lives in Georgia, near the Florida Border and loves running down there this time of year (70 degrees, low humidity) but has a really hard time in the summer months (100 degrees, 100% humidity), so maybe we could just be traveling runners. Just keep moving around to accommodate the season that we want?? That's an idea :)

Yes, Ty and I are both running painters. I want to meet up with all of you guys down there, like maybe Friday night. What are your plans?

We are having dinner at 6 at the condo. Can you make it????

Great run, and your alone miles were fast (were you scared, is that why you were so quick???? Kidding, you are that quick all of the time.)

So, I did get your message off of my cell phone just barely. I think I will go and try to call you back!

Kellie,

What all this in your posts about no sugar!!?? No worries, I am eating plenty for both of us (and a whole army). Seriously, it's not pretty. Went to the grocery store one night and ALL of the stinkin' Valentine candy looked so yummy. So I pretty much bought it all!

You amaze me with your natural talents in running (both you and Kelli ... maybe it has something to do with your names ... hmmmm)

Anyway, nice job on your run today. Like Kelli said, your alone miles were way fast!

Just Me, signing back in to respond to comments from 3 days ago. First, thank you all for your comments, I do appreciate them. Just because I am very slow at getting back doesn't mean I don't appreciate you all.

Marion: Thank you so much for the invitation to dinner but we actually aren't even leaving to drive down to St. George until about 3 or 4 so we won't be down there until later, darn it! I hope you all have fun though! I will be there in heart.

Kelli: I was a little scared in fact, I always get scared running by myself, I have no idea why. You caught me though ;)

Teena:I am not seeing this natural talent with running that you are talking about and question: Have you checked out yourself lately, you are a speedster. However, I do enjoy your comments and you are always free to flatter me whenever you want. You are a sweetie! Thanks so much. OH, and I have made up for lost time with the sugar, trust me :) I have no self control, it's pretty sad. Look forward to seeing you in St. George, what are your plans for running? Do you have a goal time?

From Teena on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 23:26:02

Hey Kellie,

No goal time per se. I am not going to be "racing" it because I am not 100% better yet (still have pain and don't want to risk messing up Boston). I am planning on starting out very conservatively and then increasing speed by about 10 - 15 seconds per mile for the first 5 miles and then holding that.
