| | Slept in with my Hubby for the first time in AGES!!!! Man, it was so lovely!! I woke up to hear my oldest son Evan making my younger boys breakfast and tending them so that we could sleep (wow, maybe all of that training really has paid off. This was a first). Got out of bed at 8:30!!! SWEET!! NO RUNNING TODAY, however, I did manage to get in 1 1/2 of P90X yoga and some ab work. Nice day!!!~ |

Woke up to run with Heidi C but didn't feel like myself. My stomach was upset last night so I didn't eat dinner and it was still upset when I woke up this morning so my energy lagged and we opted to walk instead of run. It was nice to just walk and get some talking in. We did stop and use a curb to do some tricept pushes though. A big "E" for effort there :)
Thanks to Heidi for agreeing to take it easy with me today :) |

No running this morning so I took a quick jog after getting home from work. I left my house at about 4:45 hoping to get done before it was too terribly dark and my efforts prevailed!! Better yet, I only got sprinkled on twice during the 5 miles. Ironically on the last .25 stretch home, it started pouring so I was lucky to get out and get done when I did! It was a great run and I felt really good during it. HOORAY! It's about time :)

| | Man, I stink at getting out of bed lately. Granted the fact that I woke up to snow didn't help me get out of bed any easier. So, I went back to bed and Tyler got up and ran instead!! However, he woke me up when he got home and I got up and got a quick 40 minute yoga session in so that's better then nothing right?!? Looking forward to a later morning run with Heidi tomorrow! |

Was supposed to run with Heidi W this morning but she was sick so I did a P90X video (Kenpo) instead. I didn't feel like it was that hard of a workout but it was fun to shake things up a bit and get a work out in. Update: Sunday morning I was very sore in my back and arms. Guess Kenpo worked after all :)

| | Was going to do a P90X video with Tyler tonight but our schedules got crammed so I had to do one all by myself :) (no, it's all good, I can work out by myself alone from time to time despite what Tyler may say). I did the "Cardio" movie tonight with a little ab work afterward. It was a really good workout and felt nice to get some exercise!!

| | So, I met up with JaNae this morning for what was supposed to be a running day. We were going to run "New Leaf" so I got all dressed in my layers and met her outside to get started. As we were stretching we started talking and I said "you sure you want to run today?" She responded very quickly with "No, not really" :). ha ha, it was funny!! SO.................... I said "We could go inside and do some yoga or something". We ended up walking around the block to warm up just a bit and then went back home and did the "cardio" P90X video again followed by some yoga belly (from the Yoga movie). It was nice that we could talk a bit easier and that we didn't have to endure the cold morning. If you can't tell, I do not like the cold mornings, nor the darkness. It's nice to shake things up from time to time (or perhaps twice in one week :). Thanks for coming over Nae! :)

Mesquite 1/2 Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:49:16, Place in age division: 5 | | (Written Sunday with both present and past tense format. Forgive me for the confusion). Well, my first race since the marathon and...........it was a bit (or I should say a lot) painful. I am not sure why I expected a lot out of myself today since I just started running again a couple of weeks ago, but I do that to myself. To add pressure, the most I have ran consistently is 5 miles up until today so that added to it........and lastly, not to keep giving myself excuses here but HOLY HARD HALF MARATHON!!! It was an interesting morning. We started out by driving to Mesquite (from St. George) so that I could drop off Tyler, Brandon and Rachel who for some crazy reason (I am secretly jealous now and wish I were sore) decided to run the full marathon while I opted for the half only. Therefore, they got on the bus and took off while I sat in the car and read my book waiting for my bus to arrive. After a while I went inside and ran into Julie and a local girl from Salem who I started talking to killing time. We drove up to the start line which was an open road out in the middle of the Desert. They basically pulled the bus over on the side of the road and said "here you go". I knew he was serious because I could see porta potties on the side of the road. As I got off and started walking up to the start line I finally got to meet Amber G who was also running the half. What a cutie! I am so glad that I got to meet her in person finally. SO..............we started running and the first mile was easy, no problemo until...........................da da da da (dooms day sound in the back ground), I saw the first hill that I needed to tackle. Just to reiterate, I do not like hills! I STRUGGLE at hills, always have and probably always will. "no worries" I thought, I can handle a hill. Well, for the next 12 miles, there were more hills then I care to count. And, when I say Hills, I don't mean, rolling hills, I mean VEYO hills. Up, down, up, down........ WOW, it was hard. There were moments in the middle that I would get a shot of energy and try to make the most of it, but it was about mile 11 that I thought "I FEEL SO BAD FOR TYLER, BRANDON AND RACHEL RIGHT NOW". I was thanking my lucky stars that I had chosen to run the half marathon, however that sick twisted part of my head wishes I was sore today from the full marathon, what is that??? All in all, it was hard but very nice to get the miles in. It also reminded me yet again (how many times have I said this) that I really need to start running more and training harder. This is not the time of year to say this but I hope to pick up my running a bit and be more prepared for the next race. Also, it was a very fun weekend with my hubby and Brandon and Rachel and SO NICE to see and talk to Marcie, Josse, Amber G, Julie, Walter (his wife Misty), Jose, and any other FRB'ers I may have forgotten to mention. Good times :) AP: 8:16

AM: Woke up and did P90X Core Synergetics DVD. Actually, I only completed about 35 minutes of the 52 minute workout, it was a killer! Then I just did some ab work to finish off.
PM: Went out after work and ran 4 solo miles. Out 2 and back. I felt like I was running my butt off (like really fast) so I was a little upset to see my avg. pace at 8:21. I am chalking it up on account of the cold weather. It's getting the best of me!! |

AM: Ran 5 mile square with Heidi W this morning. HOLY COW, IT'S SOOOO COLD!!!!! I am not ready for winter weather yet. I know it's happening despite my preference, but I am not ready for it. I had a hard time talking today and breathing. Not to mention that I lacked energy. See, this cold is getting the best of me. Looks like I need to change my mental perspective. Our pace was slow today; I will give a subtle hint, it was under a 9 minute pace but not by much.
PM: Yoga with my hubby (how dreamy :). He did about 50 minutes of the P90X yoga DVD, but I only did about 40 mins (I got a bit of a late start.) We followed it up with a bit of ab work. Hopefully the ab work will start to pay off here soon. I feel like my gut is growing and we haven't even officially started the Holiday Season yet, YIKES!!!! |

| | Nice, casual Thanksgiving Morning run!! This is a fun day to run on for several reasons. I get to sleep in a bit longer, am off work due to the Holiday, Holiday feelings are in the air, great company...............not to mention that I run in preperation to an entire day of EATING!!! I know there is no way that I ran far enough or hard enough to compensate for the amount of food I ate, but it was still nice never the less :). Fun morning run! |
