Long run #1.  This is the longest I've run since April.  Why do I want to add 9 more miles to this total?  I ran partway up and down City Creek, met up with Fiddy and Allie, then ran some cool down miles with them.  It was cool and nice with a breeze the first time up, but by the time I was running down the second time, all coolness disappeared, except for the residual glow of running with two of Utah's premier runners.

I hit my target for the day (16) and still had over a mile to get to the car.  I asked a cop if he'd give me a lift on the back of his motorcycle, but he declined courteously.  I walked for a while, then felt like a moron walking down a hill and ran the rest of the way.  Once I got out of memory grove, I found the stinkiest garbage can possible, and sat down next to it in the creek.  That felt great, but smelled bad.  A chocolate shake from Crown Burger was the final touch on this run.  Now I'm home, and I hope I'm too tired to do anything except take a nap or go waste money at stores.  I also have an 1800 calorie deficit to rectify.  Also, bathing might not be a bad idea.

My left tibia hurts 1/3 of the way up.  This is not a new thing, but after 16 miles it hurts more than normal.

nice seeing you today, kam. i didn't anticipate the waiting around at the awards, but thanks for waiting for us so we could get a few miles in with you. i hope it didn't set your day back too much. it was fun running with you.

i like your idea of finding a stinky garbage can to rest next to after you run. i typically go hang out in old porta-potties that have been sitting in the sun for awhile, but this sounds better.

also, nice job hitting your target and getting the miles in today. make sure to eat a lot of candy, and please be careful with that tibia -- i hear those things can be really, really evil. you may want to try loosening it up with some heel/toe walking (walk on your heels for 2 min, then your toes, repeat, etc. etc...)doing this on a regular basis has helped my legs a ton.

By the time I realized the source of the smell, I had already wriggled out a comfortable, non-rocky butt-spot, so I wasn't going to relocate. I'll have to try that heel/toe walking. If nothing else, it will get me strange looks, and I'll take attention any way I can get it.

Good job getting the miles in. Glad to see you putting last week's prize to good use.

I just caught up reading your blog. I'd love a pair of baby blue Crocs! Where did you find them for 5 bucks? Sorry to hear you got a blister. I'm currently running in 4 different pair. What's funny is each pair fits and feels a little different, but I love each one of them.

A chocolate shake sounds good, but my binge is over.

TOU - The first half of that race is wonderful. Both in scenery and the course itself. Beautifully smooth, soft asphalt road with a gently downhill grade, it's butter. I mean butta, pure butta!

Thanks, Allie, Andy and Mike. I got the crocs up at the outlet from the clearance bin. They had lots of pink ones, too. I'm excited for TOU. I'm doing 18 next Saturday morning, 9 miles out and back on Skyline Drive. It should be scenic.
