Jack was eating around 5 a.m.  Upon finishing, he was wide awake, so we went for a run so Tami could sleep.  It was 75 degrees.  We ran 8 miles.  That's about it.  I have a double today since I wimped out last night after helping Max finish his Eagle project.  He's only 17.3 years old, so not quite at the last minute.

P.M.  5 on the treadmill with "24" 3-3.  It was hot outside, and probably barely less hot inside.  I'm going to have a late night writing a story for my daughter's homework.

"Just 8" huh? I think I would kill for that right now. Nice work. Two a days are a good idea!

I need to rethink our run on Saturday. My body is not performing this week like I would like it to and I'm getting worried. I think I will do the trail part only and come back, maybe 12-15...seriously if I can do that. I will have to play it by ear and see what I can handle. No race simulation afterall on Saturday for me. I think I will save that run for next week unless I decide to taper. Hope I didn't throw you off too much. I'll see what I can do Sat. See you Saturday same time same place.

I'm happy to scale things back. Returning along Main Street will give whatever mileage you desire, and keep us in the shade of the mountain, rather than baking on Legacy.

I think your phenomenal race is enough of a race simulation. It might not be a bad idea to do one more long run and throw in 4-5 fast miles at the end, but if your legs feel weird...not so much.

Congrats on the Eagle Project! That's good news. Nice job on the double running day - haven't tried that yet. How do you feel today?

Your race sounds fun. Way to take it to them! We need more free races. We need to start a movement! Get your own shirt! Bring your own support! We offer a start line and a finish line. Oh...and bring your own timing device!
