3 in the morning.

Workout in the afternoon on the track. Some thousands and then some cut-down finishes from 350 to 100. Thousands were tough, especially with the heat, and I was off a little on those. Worked on really finishing strong on the cut-downs. Legs still felt a little trashed from the weekend so rolling out and stretching tonight to help with that. Also, my Pegasus 31s have 666 miles on them, spooky.

No morning run. I woke up and my throat was hurting pretty bad and I felt congested so I went back to bed and skipped 1st period to sleep a little more.

7 miles in the afternoon out on the trails. Felt decent, but pretty tired. Felt much better than I did in the morning though.

No morning run again. Wanted to get some extra sleep with the race later today and being sick.

Our school is hosting a multi and distance carnival meet, and it's a qualifying meet so Coach had us run the 3200 to get it qualified and out of the way early. We got to run at around 8:30pm under the lights so that was pretty sweet. The weather was pretty darn near perfect too, but it was super dusty from the wind earlier today. You couldn't even see Pine Valley through the dust. The whole thing was super nonchalant, just being on our track and with mostly just PV and DH guys. Mentally I think it felt more like a tempo workout than a race. We went out a little slow, 2:32-33 for the first 800, but picked it up and we were about right on at the 1600. I just stayed relaxed and hit 1:15s for the next few laps and picked it up a little on the last. Ended up qualifying with a few seconds to spare. Wasn't too stressed about place or anything, just wanted to hit the qualifying time, so it was a pretty good race. I have mixed feelings about the 3200.

3 in the morning. Felt pretty good.

6 later at the meet with Sage. Went and watched some races, and Coach let me commentate the boys 1600. It was pretty sweet, I think I have a future as a sports broadcaster or something.

Drove up to Cedar this morning for a workout with some of the team. A little chilly when we got there but it warmed up a bit. The workout was pretty good, my legs were trashed when we finished. I don't know if it was the elevation or just a hard week or what, but my legs had nothing in them after that last repeat. Solid week of training, and it's nice to be qualified for everything now so I don't have to stress about that at all. Good stuff today.

Got up too late to go before the first session on conference, so I ended up running between the first and second sessions. Did the shortened ridge loop from my house for 7 total. Great day outside.
