not sure what this EASY run was all about:  8:16,  7:51, 7:42, 7:49, 7:42, 7:40, 7:39, 7:38.    Two  mile loop course around my neighborhood x 4.  The usual dark run (530am).   Marathon shopping (you know double coupon tuesday with hubby) at Walmart so had to run early.  I sure wanted to see the sun but it was kind of cool with the mist in the air after rainfall last night.  AP 7:47 for 8 miles.  I gues it had something to do with UNbroken sleep-- 7 hours!!!  I did have to take a muscle relaxant to sleep.  Otherwise I a quite sure I would have been UP all night.  I was wired at 9 pm.  Amber read to me in bed and then Troy and I watched about 7 minutes of the BYU women's soccer game against Oregon (saturday's game)--- I am guessing 7 minutes as I was out before remembering much of the game.  : D.  What to do about marathon day running shoes??? I don't like either pair I am wearing-- well I like my mizunos but they are feeling flattened and there is no tread in the forefoot.  Yesterday I wore my mirages and honestly I am just putting up with them because I bought them.  Can't wait until their mileage is up!!!    Migraine all afternoon yesterday-- radiating down my right arm and down my leg.  Burning tingling pain.  So done with this type of pain.   I guess it is good I don't get seasonal allergies and have my eyes swell and my nose continuously drip.  But my pains seem seasonal-- worse at different times of the year so maybe my allergies manifest differently.

Nice "easy" run, wish I could run easy like you!!!! I say run in the mizunos if they are your favorite, what's another 26.2 miles right?

I'm with Carina! Your easy run today sounds oh so hard to me.

I am so glad you got some sleep my friend! I have no advice on the shoes. I ran TOU in my kinvaras and my feet were on fire for 11 miles. So much fun...

gettting worried-- mcmillan's pace calculator has me running a 3:14:50 marathon going off my 19:09 time trial a few weeks ago!! transfer that to a down hill marathon I can take off 7 minutes-- 3:07:50. Down to the wire for a PR there!! FLIP. I have gotten in shape too late. I really should have done more than ONE tempo run!!! maybe tomorrow I will run some tempo miles, 5 at the most. ; D.

I think you will do well Julie. So you don't like the Mirages? I take it you are a neutral runner? I need some new trainers, but not sure what to get myself!

Also, great run with AP. I never seem to be in the 7's anymore. I need a flat or downhill course to get those numbers! Nice work!

me too Tara-- 8s have taken over most of my runs--- and then some fasts in the 6s but only 2-4. So every few weeks I force myself to find that gear wondering why it has fallen off the face of the planet. Trying to find that feeling again....(I think that is some love song some where ; D). Mirages-- yah I don't like the way the sole is built-- and they are 4mm drop-- probably adding to my achilles problem. I love my mizuno precisions.

I say if you love the Mizuno Precisions go out an buy a new pair. You know they work for you. I wouldn't be worried about switching to a new pair of shoes this close to the race if it's a shoe you've used before and know you like. I've gotten new shoes a week or two before a race many times. I just get the same kind I know I like and I always feel great. Good luck at SG! I'll see you there.
