back to the precisions.  not sure how i even ran the marathon in the nike pegasus.  they don't even feel good on my feet now.  but i was blister free so i can't complain.  but i wonder if the heel lift and cushiness made my hamstrings the target at that race.  Heels cause your hamstrings to shorten.  Just had to run today. I think six days off was enough-- today was six 24 hour periods of not running ; D.  Absolutely no foot pain!!  Alleluyah!!  finally!! THAT marathon knocked my feet back in place!!  I could sense fatigue in my hamstrings the entire run but nowhere else.  But it felt more like tightness I guess and nerve like to my lower back.  No niggles anywhere else and honestly the hamstrings just feel tight not painful at all.  Need a really good sports massage to stretch them out.  AP 8:25 for 8 miles.  Took my garmin off auto lap for the mile.  VERY liberating to NOT see mile splits!!  AHHHH!!!  Felt better and better the longer I went so I just did my usual eight.  Weather great.  Fall in the air.  Wore shorts, long sleeves.  Hmmmm....this is going to be a long winter waiting for next spring running!!  I guess I will fill it with aerobic base building running easy pace miles and a couple of small races around the holidays.

haha the marathon FIXED your feet? I can't say you are crazy b/c in spring 2011, speed work on the track cured my PF... and that doesn't really make sense either :-)

so it is safe to say that we are both mental!! ; D I call it marathon hypnosis. my feet had no idea they were being tricked into healing....I was in a trance the first 23 miles!! dang that 3:05 pacer for breakng my hypnosis!!!! NEXT time!! any suggestions on how I can control myself between now and the spring??? I am going for a PR at Ogden.

Remember than Ogden is 7-8 months away and you don't want Mar/Apr/May to be like last year. So try not to get too fired up yet... do like 25-50% less than you feel like you "should/could" be doing for these next couple months. Especially in these next couple weeks... let your body fully recover (and then some) from StG so you start back up again in good health.

oh my that is far away...hmmm I better practice controlling the reins....I guess I could come back to cross country skiing races :D for the winter and work on form, and core. I have done one or two core workouts since April-- all under five minutes!! I have some work to do so I won't get carried away. What do you think I should do for mileage?? 40??? then as march comes start upping to 70s. I only ran four weeks at 62 and one at 64 before sg but now that my feet are better...I think going inthe 70s again around peak time would be good for me. Not going to get too excited but I feel so much better than last year at this time :D.

Yeah, I think 40s during the "off" season would be perfect. Always be feeling like you can do a little more and not get worn out. Then you're strong and fresh when its time to really get going in Feb/Mar.

XC skiing would be great for you in the winter!
