NO running DAY 2 (okay day one really, I don't run Sundays but I am counting it :D)  Left hamstring and lower left back VERY tight and NOT happy.    Looking back at my MRI from 4 years ago-- I had a mild central disk protursion (herniation) in two places L3-4 and L5-S1 with dessication (drying of one of my discs) and narrowing....my hunch is it BACK with a vengeance.  (no pun intended ; D)   If it was a torn hamstring with this amount of pain I would see bruising/bleeding at the surface and I don't which tells me IT IS the NERVE (sciatic) being pinched.  My left big toe goes in and out of numbness and the arch of my foot has nerve-like pains (not where I had plantar fascitis).   Got up however at 6:20am to drive Courtney and Ashton (neighbor's son) to swim team.  Got the kids up and going as we are off to 7 peaks in Provo today at 930am before the mad rush.  We are meeting my sister and her kids for a few hours of fun!!

Have fun at 7 peaks. :):) Get some swimming in, or people dodging. That places is crazy! Me and my sister go from 6pm-8pm sometimes because it seems to be a little less busy.

I'm sorry about your aches and pains. Injury sucks, it should be a swear word. Have a fun at Seven Peaks. You must have the pass of all passes.

not that I want to draw attention to it but 930am is an excellent time to be at 7 peaks. :D. stinking hamstring is tighter than it has ever been. no change. flip out. rachelle want a sgm number ; D?

okay and after reading more on hamstring injuries they are NOTHING TO PLAY with. Apparently the grade 2 tear I had two weeks ago (diagnosed by a dr. at the finish line) was NOT healed despite all I tried to do to it by running and running. This could go on for a while if I am not careful. And I am telling you the pain can SEND you thru the roof--- I had to STOP running NOW THAT is PAIN!! at least I could run thru the end of the half (a lot slower) but just like UVM 7:15 to 7:30 pace was all I could muster when in all reality I should have just stopped running. I have SHACKLES on my ankles and I don't know where the key is. At least I miss all the heat running :D.

I really think if you can take it easy for a month you will come back strong and still get a good training cycle in for SGM. You have the fitness so you will not lose much from cross training for a month. You can do it!!

Pool running?

UM, we went at 9:30 am last week and it was crazy packed! BUT it got worse at noon. We stayed until 5, I was exhausted and amazed that all of my kids lived through the experience-I could not keep track of them all!
