J.K.  Really I just turned 42 today and what more dramatic way to start the day then 42 EASY PACE miles thru the snowcapped roads of Pleasant Grove?  Seriously, NOT.  In fact my right shoulder, neck and arm pain is NOT letting up and gets worse a few hours after I run.  At least I don't notice it while running. Thank you ENDORPHINS.  I need to go and get adjusted.  Lucky chiro that I fell on the TM and run on a shaky one.  I think I am going to go for 4 miles then 2 later on instead of 42.  How is that for sanity?  The older the WISER : D.  IN REALITY:  I ended up running 10.1 miles at 8:24 AP at 11am (had to wait for Troy to get back from the Rec center. Amber home sick with fever and cold).  I sure felt like an OLD lady, creaking knees and spine.  Oh Joy.  Neck and arm okay during run.  Tried hard to relax my shoulders while I ran.  Enjoyed this run, snow and slush and SUN coming out behind the fluffy clouds!!   Ran up and around Cedar Hills and trotted along ever so relaxed.  The first mile I was like "Oh my I must surely be doing a 10:15 mile".  So glad to see that it was really a 9:22.  My usual warm up mile pace.  Alleluyah.  At mile 4 a little whipper snapper DOG would NOT leave me alone.  I wasn't sure if he would bite my ankle or not and I kept yelling at him.  I was stopped for at least 3 minutes trying to get him off my "tail".  VERY ANNOYING.  After that things got adventurous up the Farm Rd where trucks are filled with dirt doing construction and leaving a muddy pathway for me to run through.  It felt so Spring-like : D.  I loved it .  Climbed that long hill and felt invigorated because I didn't push myself.  These runs are my strength.  Now I feel renewed.

I was thinking...Holy Cow! Who has 42 miles already this week?! Four then two is probably a wise idea! Happy Birthday!

From Lily on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 11:23:33 from 67.199.181.73

Happy birthday to you!

From Jason McK on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 12:02:35 from 63.255.173.99

Well Happy Birthday then.

I know lame of me to post 42 miles...but kind of down and needed the blog support :D. Sad for my good friend who's dad suddenly passed away. And not sure how I feel about reaching 42 after losing my own dad when he was only 41 years old (from a car accident) when I was nearly 13 years old. So mortality not to be taken lightly. Quite the philosophical day for me. Not quite how I thought it would be. So thankful I work with newborns in the nursery, new spirit arrivals coming in groves : D.

Happy 42! I sure think you are speedy for 42....lots faster than this 32 year old! Have a good one!

From Burt on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 18:32:18 from 206.19.214.144

Julie! You're gonna get the Mileage Board shut down! It's people like you that tell people they are hot when they make the Hot Discussion Board that got that shut down ;)

From JulieC on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 18:41:04 from 168.103.185.178

so are you saying I am hot or not? I didn't quite understand? Or are you implying that I couldn't if I truly wanted to go out and BUST OUT 42 miles in ONE DAY!?! Egg ME on, BURT!! my running shoes are at the front door...

From JulieC on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 18:44:12 from 168.103.185.178

oh and I think I heard in those words a birthday tune being sung. Thank YOU : D.

From Burt on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 18:46:32 from 206.19.214.144

Oh my gosh you like to twist my words! Okay, you are the hottest 42 year old today. I don't dare you to run 42 miles because I wouldn't wish that on anyone, and happy birthday! Satisfied??

From seeaprilrun on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 19:03:07 from 72.205.231.214

Haha I saw 42 on the mileage board and was like WHOA who is over-achieving!!! Happy Birthday! Sounds like it is a bittersweet kind of day, but I hope you have a good one! Your warm up mile is like my warm up mile--I swear I can hear myself creaking in the first mile(or 2 or 4).

From Bonnie on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 19:09:12 from 128.196.228.134

Happy Belated Birthday Julie, 42 is an awesome age!! Lucky you, you still have 8 years until 50 ;-) (I,however, only have 1.5 years, but who is counting?)

From JulieC on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 22:22:31 from 168.103.185.178

Thanks ALL. Burt, did YOU happen to get the Hot Discussion board shut down ;)? April, I did consider while running that I could go out every two hours and run 6 miles and my 42 miles in by midnight, but that was ONLY in my mind. But what you first conceive can be achieved : D.

From Burt on Mon, Feb 07, 2011 at 23:15:00 from 72.223.90.79

I can't help but think I'm partially responsible, but I'm not about to ask if I was.

From I Just Run on Tue, Feb 08, 2011 at 12:27:12 from 67.79.11.242

Glad you logged 42 on the Milage Board...If you hadn't I'd have to be answering why I'm at the top and not even a "legit" runner...ha ha...HAPPY BIRTHDAY....! Maybe I'll do that on my 51 Birthday in a couple of months...

From Smooth on Tue, Feb 08, 2011 at 23:55:55 from 67.2.82.197

Happy belated birthday, Julie! Why is it that I'm not be one bit surprised that you would go and bust out 42 miles on your 42nd birthday!!!! How's about 42K! That is so totally doable for you!

Glad you had a nice run. Hope Troy spoiled you big time! :)
