Running Accomplishments:

Recently have become interested in running thanks to my daughter and her XC adventures. I have finished a 5K and 10K. As I am new to running, I don't have a lot of highlites at this point. Hopefully this will change

Short-Term Running Goals:

First build back up to running thirty minutes at a time.

5K October 30 -- Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

10k in November -- Butch Cassidy race in Springdale.

I would like to build a solid base over the next 6 - 12 months. I hope to run in either 5K or 10K races through the next year and perhaps one 1/2 marathon (depending on how my body responds to training).

 

I would like to see how fast and far my 40 + year old body is capable of running.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Over the next 10 years I want to run consistently to maintain health and to enjoy a sport that challenges me.

Personal:

I have a wonderful marriage of 20+ years and have four children who are the light of my life. They range in age from 19 - 12 . . . two girls and two boys. Two of my children are interested in running.  Sierra and Zac are both participating on the Pine View XC Team.

PM -- Ran at the department physical fitness testing. My goals was to run anything under 12 minutes. Beat that goal pretty good. Short distance, but it was fun to do.

AM -- Got up a little late; I had a hard time sleeping last night.  Decided that regardless of the time I would make it out for a run.  Glad I did as it feels good to have finished.  Ran my usual route up to AC and back.  Total exercise time was 31.45.  Good times.

AM -- Up and running again this morning.  Ran my usual route up to Artic Circle.  Total work out time was 31.06.  Beautiful morning for a run.  Saw Jeff and Haley, Austin and Coach Holt out running.  Kind of fun.  Good job all.

AM -- up and out running this morning. It was beautiful for a run. Nice and cool for the whole run. Love the opportunity to exercise. Ran my usual route. Total exercise time was 31.25.  Saw Heidi and Allyson out walking.

AM -- My miles today are not running miles. Zac and I got up early this morning to go hiking. He needed a five mile hike to complete his Second Class Scout badge so we piled in the car along with one of his friends at 7:00 AM and headed toward Snow Canyon. We hiked 2.5 miles in to a Geo cache called Erastus Snow. It was an amazing view. The hiking was strenuous at times and at other times easy going. Over all my legs are tired tonight. I guess the qualifies as a good workout. The views, by the way were incredible. We hiked out on to a mesa / cliff overlooking snow canyon. Had a great time.
