Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Recently have become interested in running thanks to my daughter and her XC adventures. I have finished a 5K and 10K. As I am new to running, I don't have a lot of highlites at this point. Hopefully this will change

Short-Term Running Goals:

First build back up to running thirty minutes at a time.

5K October 30 -- Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

10k in November -- Butch Cassidy race in Springdale.

I would like to build a solid base over the next 6 - 12 months. I hope to run in either 5K or 10K races through the next year and perhaps one 1/2 marathon (depending on how my body responds to training).

 

I would like to see how fast and far my 40 + year old body is capable of running.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Over the next 10 years I want to run consistently to maintain health and to enjoy a sport that challenges me.

Personal:

I have a wonderful marriage of 20+ years and have four children who are the light of my life. They range in age from 19 - 12 . . . two girls and two boys. Two of my children are interested in running.  Sierra and Zac are both participating on the Pine View XC Team.

Artic Circle route.  Good run this morning.  Total exercise time was 31:00.  The rest of the day was kind of hectic.  I won't be able to run tommorrow morning.  I have staff meeting early in the morning and I have meetings till 9:00 pm. UMMM  It is one of those weeks for me.

Staff meeting this morning and classes tonight.  Work all day.  I could have made time, but with some sacrifice.  Chose to do something different.  Look forward to running tomorrow morning.

AM -- up and ran the Artic Circle route.  I was fogged in my head this morning.  A little tired from not as much sleep as I need.

AM - Ran the Artic Circle route again.  I really need to find some variety in the next few weeks.  Ran the course in 30.34.  Felt good during the run.  Again I am grateful for being able to run and enjoy the sport and the exercise.  I have a Physical fitness test at work in about four weeks.  Looking forward to that.

AM -- different route today.  Ran down to the river and the trails down there.  Went out 1.75 miles and then back home via a slightly different route (through our old neighborhood).  Ran much faster that I have in the last little while in part because I needed to be home, and in part because my legs felt stronger than usual.  Had a great time the rest of the day.
