lots of elliptical

Was curious so just looked up blog numbers. Less than 1% of all time FRB users still active. Only 32 of us updated in the past month. Pretty small crew still using this to record workouts. Back in the day, we even had a future Olympian on here. Was there more than just one?

This is a web 1.0 platform that never made any attempt to evolve after web 2.0

Yeah, most have converted to more modern platforms like Strava.

I am here because it is familiar, easy and I like the 32 people left!

Just back up your logs regularly uncase it goes down/away.

I like the 32 people, as well. And as an old, I don't want to change formats. When someone asks me what year did such and such thing happen, I use this blog more often than not to figure out the answer. If this were to simply vanish, I would just be guessing. This is a place I have come to at least once a day (whether I ran or not) for 12 years. You guys have been here longer than me. So I'm guessing the impact would be greater on you.

Same here Tom...if someone in our house is wondering where we were in June 2012, I can quickly tell them.

I was coaching a lady for marathoning recently, and talked about the importance of record keeping. She was concerned about some bad workouts. I brought up FRB and showed her how many of my speed workouts were aborted early due to feeling blah.

Also nice to read race reports sometimes, too.

I do miss many of the people, though. And when the FRB forum was a thing and I was one of the lead posters there. Ahh, good times.

I'm fine with the Web 1.0 style.

I have had some of the same thoughts about the blog as well...

I don't even run anymore due to knee issues, but I log my biking miles because it's an easy platform and I like to keep up with what the rest of you are doing.

I consider many of you "friends" and would feel bad if I abandoned you.

Bill- I'm same, I barely run, I use it to note any workouts (and frisbee games, in my case). I also like looking back at entries from others who are long gone, old running buddies of mine.

I'm glad Sasha has kept it going.

Jon, "Looking back at old entries" I do that a lot. Way back when, I was looking on line at someone's attempt to get a BQ, which sent me down an internet hole. Until I landed on Jake Krong's 2012 Boston Race report. I read that report, and then lurked here for about 6 months before I joined. https://fastrunningblog.com/u/jkrong/blog-04-16-2012.html

My wife and I joined Jake and Andrea and their two year old son up in Driggs Idaho to cool off and get some good hikes in. It was 46 degrees one morning in early July! I've urged him to occasionally post here.
