AM- quick report.  Full report... sometime in the future, after all the other late race reports.  Wanted a last good workout so ran the Camp Croft trail marathon in Spartanburg, SC.  Typical SC trail- very muddy and chunky (esp. the horse trail part), lots of roots and constant small ups and downs, combined with 80-90+ deg humid day and tons of spider webs.  Ran with a relay runner, Clint, for the first 10 miles in 1-2 (well, someone was ahead but took a wrong turn and we never saw him again), then ran the last 12-ish by myself in the lead.  Went easy at first, gradually upped the pace but would have liked a few more hard miles at the end.  RD biked the course at 25.8 and swears that is the length, but my garmin called it 21.  I'll split the diff (since I know garmin's have issues in SC with thick foilage and switchbacks) and call it 22.  Anyways, won the race in 3:06 and 1800 ft climbing, with 2nd place 17 min back, then added on some more miles for fun and cause I didn't get all the miles I expected.  Marci and the kids got there just in time to see me finish, and we did some fun (sweaty) hiking afterwards.  Good day, good way to end my peak mileage before starting a slow taper for Waldo.  2nd highest mileage week this year after the Umstead week, and I feel good.

Finally made a bit of a race report as part of this blog post

Nice job Jon. Always feels good to win right?

Someday when you're in Spartanburg you need to eat at the Beacon.
