Lunch- 7.  I was running late but guessed the right route the big group take so met some of them halfway through- is that I sign I spend too much time with them?

Packing for Barkley Marathons tomorrow and leaving either tomorrow night or Fri morning.  McKinley got sent home from school with a fever, so I really hope it doesn't happen to me.

In related news, the New York Times published an article on the race today.  Cool- I guess it's officially mainstream now.

'The Race That Eats Its Young' - brilliant.

I feel sorry for Ryan Brazell: the virgin with no chance of finishing - that's some pressure.

I hope all goes well and that you've managed to avoid the'fever'. Good luck and I can't wait to read the report.

Footnote: How did the NYT get that picture of my feet?

I just heard you were doing this..! Good Luck - have a great time.

The hay is in the barn on this one. I'd wish you good luck, but you don't need it. Just let that 5K PR carry you through the first 100 miles and then kick it in for the last 30-50, or however long it is.

“There is no Web site, and I don’t publish the race date or explain how to enter,” said Cantrell, an accomplished ultrarunner who has never come close to completing his own race. “Anything that makes it more mentally stressful for the runners is good.”

That about says it all. My heavens, is there something stronger than "good luck" I can wish to you??!!

From Tom K on Thu, Mar 28, 2013 at 12:59:09 from 71.228.90.171

This is amazing. I agree, "Good luck" is not strong enough.

I'll go back to training for my flat, warm, paved, sea level 10k now...

I would say good luck, but I am not sure luck with be of any help. Have fun? God bless? Be careful!
