I finally got home from my day at about 9 pm.  I really really, really, really did not feel like going running in the dark, on very snowy and icy roads, in the single digit temperature (0 deg windchill).  I eventually put on an extra long sleeve shirt so at least I would stay warm (it's easier to go out in the cold if you know you will stay somewhat warm).  Did 6 miles at about 7:30 pace- not too bad supposing it was icy and dark and I really couldn't see where I was going (no moon).  I was glad I went, though, but I sure hope the running gods noticed my dedication tonight.  Especially that I gave up precious time with my wife and two kids.

You're an animal, I went the way of the gym this winter and the Pacific NW can't compete with 0 windchill and ice. Remind me the dates of WBR. I'm doubtful because I have my eye on another 1/2 up here in June, but I may need the break out of here and I like that race.

hey jon,

yeah--i'll reiterate David's comments. Good work, man. I got up this morning at 6, saw it was quite dark (but warm and lovely) and said "screw it...i'll go at lunch". I'm spoiled, to say the least.

Regarding WBR, I highly doubt I'd make it out there. In fact, I'll just go ahead and say "no". One Utah race per season is about all my budget can handle. You'll be in Moab, right?

good grief--i wish i took the picture. i must have posted that when i was excited about the archery season. should probably change that back...

yeah, i'll be in logan several days surrounding the race and would love a run. plan on it!

From Bethany on Thu, Jan 10, 2008 at 14:35:19

I was gonna say "that is a great blog name!" Good job marci. And congrats to both of you. The second kid is on the way! You wait, the fun is just starting....

From James on Thu, Jan 10, 2008 at 14:40:49

It is about time someone changed his blog name!

You are more dedicated to the sport than I am, I would have never went out. It is a good thing Marci loves you. Maybe that is why you spent the whole month of December with her family in IF, to make up for those 9 pm run?

From Jon on Thu, Jan 10, 2008 at 14:57:57

In the summer, I will sometimes have 10 or 11 pm runs. Though those are more enjoyable and warmer than the ones in the winter.
