I've really enjoyed the Olympics and have watched as much as I can.  Not a fan of figure skating, skim through some bobsled, luge, and curling, but I really enjoy snowboarding halfpipe, snowboard cross, downhill skiing, and short track skating.  However, my favorite has been the cross country skiing and biathlon, probably cause it is so similar to running (although my wife thinks I'm nuts for watching every minute of these long events).  Yesterday's Men's 30k was the best yet- a relative-nobody Swede, Johan Olsson, broke away from the lead pack at the 15k mark, and 2 of his teammates in the pack kept intentionally slowing everyone down.  Awesome.  He built as much as a 25 second lead before finally being passed at the end (by his teammate).  But he held on for Bronze medal.  It was such a gutsy, awesome move, and I was really rooting for him and was happy to see he medaled.

What about for everyone else- what are your favorite winter Olympic sports, and have you seen any inspirational performances?

I really like ski and snowboard cross racing, even though I didn't particularly like the track this year. Bobsled, luge, skeleton, superpipe, cross country skiing, biathlon. I like most everything.

The most inspirational for me was watching the Canadian freestyle skier win the first gold for his home country. Having his older brother with MS? (I can't remember) in the stands and that whole olympic story was just amazing to me. So cool.

i like the half-pipe best.

I think everyone should know how obsessed you are with the Olympics...he records EVERY second of it and watches it ALL evening until late. I am thinking he likes it more than football.

the ski and snowboard cross races are my favorite.

the short track speed skating is also very entertaining. there is some serious strategy to those races...so unpredictable. the winner can squeeze around everyone on the last lap.

i personally enjoy watching the figure skating, but i do NOT enjoy the ice dancing.

By far my favorite is the long track speed skating. But I think of myself more as a track runner than a road/trail runner, so maybe that's why.

Men's s Nordic Combined. 1st ever medal in that event for the U.S.(silver) Inches out of gold. It was awsome to watch him almost pull it off. Chased a guy down on the last lap, pulled ahead, opened a good gap with the field chasing hard through the last 1/2 mile. French guy got him right at the line.

I'm with you, the cross-country skiing really got my attention this Olympics. Never before have I watched them so much since I was just a new runner four years ago. But this year, when I watch them power up the hills I can feel my legs twitch, wanting to run up the hills.

Jon the Cross Country Skiing has been fun to watch. I really enjoy watching the Biathlon since I love to shoot. To go what they go through skiing and have to stop and shoot steady is amazing. Ya I am with you enjoyed this Olympics.
