I added a few pictures from last week's race on the race report

No run today to rest the achilles, though I might go biking.  It's raining right now- I think I'll go enjoy a little walk in 70 deg weather.  I'm a bit lucky right now, actually- the mountain where I was planning to run is currently in the middle of a huge, severe thunderstorm.  The storm appears to be several hundred miles long with lots of ominous red spots on the radar map- not fun at all.

Ah, who am I kidding- I'd rather be running in the middle of the storm than stuck at home!

Massage later today.

hurricane season is just getting underway back there isn't it?

I guess so, but I'm too far inland to have anything happen more than a big rainstorm.

Jon - reading your blog these days is making me a little homesick. I'haven't been back to Greenville since we moved to Utah in 2002. Those Paris Mountain runs were a staple of the Furman cross country team.

If you plan to do any road races, you have to do the Paris Mountain Road Race (20k) in December.

How do you like Greenville? Is downtown as great as ever?

Rob- I've been meaning to call you to ask about other runs. Need to do that sometime. Paris Mtn is great, I just wish it were bigger!

Downtown Greenville is definitely awesome. Lots of fun.

Hope your achilles are feeling better.

Hey I've been to Greenville a couple of times before. We had NCAAs at Furman my Junior year. At the pre-national meet a few weeks before nationals I won the open race and my prize was a backpack that said "FU" on it. Nice. I imagine those university initials could make for some interesting football cheers.
