Enjoy running, stay fit (and maybe lose a few pounds). Play ultimate frisbee.

Personal:

I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

AM- hip workout, then 5 tough miles on the bike. Really pushed it, huffing and puffing as much as any speed workout.

PM- 1 more at the physical therapist.  He said we're seeing improvement.  He's having me start running every other day, with 2-3 miles tomorrow.

Hope the hip is feeling better. Great speed work today. This will definitely help the turn over rate being on the bike. Hopefully you'll be able to get some endurance training in again before your big race.

I'm sorry to hear about the hip problems. I've had hip issues all the way back to high school, not much fun trying to run on bad hips.
