Ran with a better attitude today.  It was still tough, though.  I was expecting last week, being my first week back,  to be the hard week but felt great the entire time.  This week, however, is a different story.  I came to the realization today that it will be this way for a while so I better get used to it.

On a more positive note:  An absolutely beautiful sunrise today!  I also know that summer is just around the corner because instead of avoiding the sprinklers today,  I actually sought them out, very refreshing!

Glad to hear today went better for you :). It is getting warm here too! It is supposed to be 4 days in a row of high temps: 85, 88, 91, 89!!! I think I might melt! :)

Great run today! I was going to ask you if you ran up at the capitol on saturday. Dont you run occasionally with Chad and Adam's group up there?

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 13:40:42

Walter,

It wasn't me. I run with my neighbor and for the most part we stick in the WVC area.

From Walter on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 13:51:12

Well I have met you right? Im finally getting to meet some bloggers face to face and its hard to remember everyone.

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 13:56:08

I completely understand. I ran the SLTC series this year, did you run it as well?

From paula on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 15:45:32

Hey, you know im not doing heart of holladay. I wished I was but I promised the director of mammoth marathons Id run the half marathon up at bear lake. Its their first marathon and I want to make history. wink wink. Im close to you though so anytime youd like to do a run let me know.

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:16:19

Walter,

Good luck on your half - Definitely make history by winning!

It would be great to get together for a run, however, I am slow..It would be a very easy run for you.

From Walter on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:26:07

slow schmo! Its how you you feel on your run not how fast you run. The speed workouts are on a seperate day! For me its weather im running or not and when you run with others its more beneficial, because its harder to run on my own. just let me know or call me my cell number is on my blog.

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:29:02

Sounds great! Are you good with early mornings?

From Walter on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:33:37

yeah sure! I like to do my swim on tues. and thurs. mornings until this weekend for my tri. then ill be back to running every morning.

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:37:25

I am light on Wed/Fri this week and my "longer" runs are on Thurs & Sat. Let's try to plan something next week. Mon or Tues depending on your recovery.

From Walter on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:46:03

ok i should be good with a recovery run on monday. Ill blog you when I get home from this tri in burley, Idaho. keep on truckin!

From Jody on Tue, Jun 03, 2008 at 23:52:51

Sounds Great! Good luck in Burley!

From Walter on Wed, Jun 04, 2008 at 00:08:27

Thanks Ill try not to drown or wreck my bike. I think ive got the running thing down so ill just see what happens. I dont know why i do this to myself. curiosity? who knows

From Jody on Wed, Jun 04, 2008 at 00:12:37

You are better than I am - I thought about doing a tri last year, then I realized how many laps I would have to swim in my little pool (higher than I can count) and decided to stick with running.

From Walter on Wed, Jun 04, 2008 at 00:26:57

You would be amazed at how little competition there is in running in these tri's. we did a reverse order in march where you run first and swim last and i had about a 4 minute lead on everyone when i jumped on my bike. I ended up 7th overall but it gave me hope to try and swim more. ive noticed my breathing has become more relaxed on the run from swimming as well as my core has gotten stronger which helps you on your marathon finish. Plus you wouldnt believe how friendly everyone is at these events its awesome. But im not going to lose focus on my marathons. I dont want to lose sight of my goals of beating sasha! lol

Hi, Jody! Just came across your blog and noticed you're running St. George! congrats. My running partner and I are, too. You're lucky to have your partner so close. Mine moved 7 miles away! I know that's not a lot but when you have to drive to meet, it takes away from running time!!!! AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!

Good luck with everything.
