So much for staying home for a while.  I had to go to Cedar today for a business meeting and so I ran tonight at the hotel.    I did 2.5 on the treadmill and then overheated.  The first mile wasn't too bad.  I was watching Marathon Challenge on PBS, it is a story of regular people preparing to run the 2007 Boston Marathon.  It was pretty interesting and kept me entertained for the first 2 miles.  It ended and I could take no more and decided to brave the wind and go outside.  I ran 2 more outside.  The first mile was into the wind and up Leigh hill - not really my intention but I kept thinking go this point and then you can turn around.  I felt good at every marker and ended up making it up the hill and then ran back to the hotel.  My leg felt really good the entire time!  YEAH!

I registered for St. George yesterday and I am getting really excited.  It is nice to be somewhat motivated and feeling good!  I am still extremely slow and that is frustrating, but it will come.

Hang in there! Recovery comes for each of us at its own speed - I read that somewhere, and it really rings true. I know that I need substantially more time than a lot of runners to come back, but I'm hoping that if I come back smart, I can avoid reinjury and that hopefully I get selected to run in St. George!! I put in my registration too. I'm looking forward to a trip out west! I think it'd be a blast!

Glad your leg is feeling better! I wish our station showed "Marathon Challenge". I will have to see if maybe it will play again sometime this week.

Yea! How exciting that you registered for St. George! I'm so glad your leg is doing better. This will be your first marathon, right? WOW!

You had asked about the barefooting in my last race--it was just the last 2 miles, so not very far at all.

Yay! Good run today, glad the leg is doing well. So do you have to wait and see about the lottery or do you get to use your St. George connections (mom!)?

Christi,

I am in the lottery. I wish I could use my "connections" but they do not work.

Jody, Benn, Christi, Lybi: Bloggers rool, you will all hit the lottery, it must happen.
