Interesting read: Reddit AMA w/ Steve Magness

I also want to plug a little Q&A about the USATF circuit I did for the Utah Running magazine. There are still lots of circuit races left on this year's schedule, and if you register before the end of June, points for the first half of the year will be retroactively applied to your total.

I didn't learn anything from that interview. The SM stuff is interesting. I read his latest blog post on mental toughness. Some really good racing tips there. My fav was essentially racing is the art of fatigue resistance and racing often makes the tough not so mentally tough.

I tried to make sure I didn't say anything you couldn't easily find out w/ 1-2 clicks on the USATF website. Less words = lower chance of saying something that sounds stupid!

Enjoyed reading the SM responses. Beetroot juice? Learn something new everyday. I don't think I'll be running to the health food store quite yet though. Yuck.

i still don't know how you can get through interviews without saying "i mean, like sooo and but anyway"...and nothing about spliffs? so affable.

really though -- that's a great topic to have in there. hopefully it generates more interest in the circuit.

Allie reminded me I forgot my plug going the other way.

Utahrunning.com is the bomb!

Joe - a few years ago MarkP tried the beet juice loading for a month or two before STG. He said he felt great. But then he ruptured a disc in his back (probably not related). I eat a lot of beets, but I don't think the vegetable itself is concentrated enough to have any type of effect.

Allie - I just, uhhh, read from my teleprompter.

No bomb jokes, Josh. TSA regulations.
