AM - 10 miles. First 7 on the Mid Mountain trail w/ Andrea, out and back starting from the Montage. From there I ran 3.5 miles up to Guardsman Pass. Both sections of the run were gorgeous... I can't remember Park City being so lush and green.

This was my first 10 mile run in ~10 weeks. I haven't done a workout in over 3 months, and have put on a half-stone... so the timing is ideal to finally earn my RAGNAR sticker this weekend. I haven't been more specifically prepared.

Pretty sure that after this weekend you'll be getting the full Ragnar tattoo, across your chest and/or back. Anything less is unacceptable, really.

you could also get one on your calf.

i can't believe you and andrea are doing ragnar this year and i won't get to do a pep rally run with you or celebrate your achievements at post-race bowling.

one piece of advice: get your $ worth at the pasta and pancake feeds. i usually bring one of those big turkey roasting pans and collect as much as i can.

Can you imagine what is going to happen to my jeep when the sticker goes on? Instant combustion?

Even though it's sad we couldn't run it together, we are still fellow Ragnarians.

I feel confident that RAGNAR will be life-changing for you.

Life-changing in a good way or bad way?

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Jun 17, 2015 at 16:35:42 from 24.10.247.181

I don't know. All I know is that RAGNAR is the cover story in the current City Weekly and the title says it's "life changing" for its participants.

I like my life the way it is so I'm not going to risk it.

If you thought the City Weekly article was over-the-top...

I LOVE my life the way it is, but I'm going to take a gamble on this. I figure the worst case scenario is that someone steals all my ski equipment while I'm out sleeping on the side of the road in Coalville Friday night. The best case scenario is that I make friends along the way that invite me to their Wyoming Handcart Ragnar this summer. I can live with anything in between.

Whatever happens out there, just know that we're all expecting a video with the Chariots of Fire music in the background.

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Jun 17, 2015 at 17:28:15 from 24.10.247.181

I'll be doing almost the exact same climb tomorrow up at Alta. Only over 1.5 miles instead of 10.

From Jake K on Wed, Jun 17, 2015 at 17:35:08 from 199.190.170.30

What run is that? Are you heading straight up High Rustler? :-)

From Rob Murphy on Wed, Jun 17, 2015 at 18:52:25 from 24.10.247.181

Yes. And will my run serve as a metaphor for life if it occurs all alone and I can't put a sticker on the back of my car?
