AM - 9.5 miles. 10K Tempo in 32:37 (5:15/mi avg). Splits - 5:15, 5:20, 5:19, 5:11, 5:12, 5:13, :67. Pace was between aerobic threshold and lactate threshold, but more importantly - I think ~5:10/mi is my hamstring threshold right now. It didn't hurt, but I don't feel confident cranking the pace down much faster yet. I'll continue to play it safe and err on the side of caution with it.

PM - 4.5 miles down to SHP, really slow.

I don't think 5:10 is a bad threshold. No sense in running much faster than that right now unless your training for the Nebo Mile. :)

Nice workout!

Thanks! Speaking of miles, I think the Heart of Holladay Mile is tentatively scheduled for June 1, 2013!

5:10 is a fine threshold if I'm training for the marathon, but for the half I need to be able to run 5:00 pace semi-comfortably, or else there isn't much use in even training the rest of this fall. So I'm going to have to make a decision in the next week or two... keep going if I can do the workouts I need to run 1:05:XX... or just shut it completely down and take some time off from running. If I keep going, I'm going to definitely take some serious time off after Vegas... I'm sort of on a plateau right now (not a terrible plateau), but a plateau nonetheless... and I don't want to be stuck on it any longer... or actually get a real injury. So I have to be careful right now.

Nice run!!!

Are you still doing the Big Sur Monterey Bay half?

Count me in for that mile race. I love mile races. Well, the only one I ever did, I took second place, but that's only because no fast people showed up. lol. I'd definitely like to beat my last time, though.

Monterey Bay is the plan, assuming things go well the next couple weeks. I've heard its a deceptively hard course, but the competition is top-notch. There are about 10 Africans on the entry lists right now that would kick my butt. I really want to be fit and healthy at that point, because it would be a great opportunity to mix it up w/ some really strong runners.

You'll do great and hold your own with those guys....at least for a minute, right? Haha.
