AM - 13 miles up to work. Yes, I've run the same route up to work 3 days in a row. Finally broke out one of my blinking safety lights... I've accepted that its dark in the mornings again and I don't want/need to get hit by a car.

PM - 11 miles home. And so ends the last stretch of "run as much as you want"... I actually have some mileage limits for the next 2.5 weeks :-0 With races the next two weekends, that will force me to cut it back and rest the legs. I'm excited!

Ugh! I've just been sleeping in as long as possible and then not washing my hair. haha

Bummer that the early sunrises are fading away. It sure is nice while it lasts.

i've been carrying a flashlight on my runs ever since last week when i nearly tripped over a (LIVE!) raccoon. it was the scariest thing i've ever encountered on a run next to the old woman eating chips on her porch at 5am (she winked at me).

Wish my luck, the blinking light would cause someone to hit me.

Allie, we have raccoons on the vacant lot next to our building on 24th st in Ogden and the entire family comes out and night, going through garbage cans. Last week, I was walking out to my car and they were all sitting by the front of my car and I caught them by surprise. The mom raccoon hissed at me and looked like she was ready to attack, so I hurried and jumped in my car. Scary stuff, those raccoons.

Blinking lights on campus is the bare minimum you need with all the students back on campus. Luckily most of them don't get up too early... The problem is that the ones who do are still half asleep as they drive in. At least I hope that is their excuse for how horribly they drive :)

Jake,

ENJOY (or try to) the down time if what you will be doing for the next couple of weeks can be called down time.

The comment by Allie regarding the raccoon and the lady on the porch...thinking there might be a good movie in there somewhere!

Be Well.

Yeah I guess you're right allie - the 3rd weekend in this upcoming stretch is what some would call the most important... being a "26.2" marathon and all that. I just hope I can finally earn my sticker!

From Chad Robinson on Thu, Aug 30, 2012 at 08:37:19 from 50.73.39.89

But what if your Garmin says 26.4? Then what are you going to do.

From Jake K on Thu, Aug 30, 2012 at 08:45:49 from 155.100.226.191

Round it down to 26!

One of my coworkers has a sticker on his car that says 0.0. He's not that enthusiastic about running. He also designed a FATAKA sticker; Farmington to Kaysville.

hahaha I like the Farmington to Kaysville sticker
